The Model Y LR was first released at a price around $51k in 2021. By December of 2022, the price rose to as high as $65k. Its now back down to $51k and folks are praising Lord Elon, but when it was $65k, it was price gouging just like dealers do? The laws of supply and demand equally apply to the dealer model as much as the consumer direct sales model. In conclusion, since covid started dealerships been adding adjusted market value to every car. They been refusing to give people deals off sticker price like they use too, getting a used car not even cheap no more. They been shorting people on trade value while turning around selling them for double. Tesla direct to consumer approach with no hidden fees is the reason they are the best selling car of the quarter. People are tired of shady business practices from dealerships.
