This was better than I thought it'd be. The plot got out of hand at times but it was definitely an interesting movie and I liked where it went ultimately although it has its flaws from a narrative standpoint. Had a lot of fun with it. Hated the score tho lol but I been on a real music kick lately so it stuck out to me like a sore irritating thumb.

Jai Courtney needs to go tho geez. Everyone else did their thing acting wise. I do wish there was more of a serious tone to it but for the most part they made it work
I didn't hate it either. T1 and T2 are both definitely in my top 20 of all time, and action wise both would probably be in the top 10. I think it's just incredibly difficult to compare anything to 2 perfect movies.

I thought this was better than Salvation or T3. There were a fukk ton of plot holes, and I really didn't like how they "undid" some of the best parts of the previous timelines with the crazy time travel in this one. But to me T1 and T2 will never not be "the end" of the canon in my mind. All this other stuff I just see as people trying their hand with the franchise. I hope they don't do a new trilogy with this cast, and I hope they don't do another one if Jim Cameron doesn't do it, but if that makes money then I'm sure they'll do a sequel.

Some quicks pros and cons.

Pros:
- Arnold was solid.

- Good action sequences. Good future war scene, car chase, acid T-1000 scene, bus scene, etc.

- Some interesting ideas. Could've been better with different execution or writing, but there were some cool ideas.

- I liked Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor. She had big shoes to fill and looked really young, but I bought it after a while.

- John Connor becoming a villain was cool besides the trailer spoiling it.

Cons:
- Jai Courtney as Reese was awful. No charisma. By the way, in a post nuclear-fire future, is it really believable that he's almost as bulky as Arnold? C'mon. Reese is supposed to be malnourished and scarred up. Not a juiced up looking pretty boy.

- Not enough T-1000. I understand Robert Patrick can't really come back, and I think the T-1000 is still the most interesting villain this this movie, and I would liked to have seen them do more with him.

- Bad writing.

- Spoiled plot points and action set pieces.

- Helicopter chase scene was too much. CGI was too much (but not as bad as the previews indicated).

BTW is Terminator the most spoiled movie franchise in history when it comes to move trailers?

T2 - The trailer spoils that Arnold is a good guy, which took a lot of juice out of the hallway scene in the mall. That would've been so much more awesome if you thought Arnold was gunning for Ed Furlong.

Salvation - The trailer spoils that Sam Worthington is actually a terminator.

Genisys - The trailer spoils that John Connor is actually a terminator/bad guy.

T1 - Not sure. I don't remember. Trailer definitely shows Arnold is the bad guy, and that was a surprise at the time, but I guess that's not a spoiler. ust a plot point.

Don't know if it's been touched on yet but how good was that future war sequence in the beginning :noah:

I don't remember Salvation much action wise but am I remembering wrong or did they have actual bullets instead of the futuristic lasers?

movie sucked, but the action was top-notch. Not a big Terminator fan, nor did i remember any of the previous Terminator movies, so to me the plot was confusing and dumb as fukk.

7/10 for the action alone. Also, they could have found a better Kyle Reece.
