I don't know if it's ever been addressed why does the resistance only send one person back instead of like a whole squad or platoon back to protect Sarah, John, etc?

The first movie said they could only send 1 back before the shyt got destroyed... Now why this keeps happening 7 movies later, I have no idea

Idk if I'm going to see this or not that last Terminator movie was straight up watered down BS. The trailers don't look very good.
