1 had a better story and the dark sci fi vibe is unmatched even for the 80s. But 2 ramped up everything and the special effects are A1 and have aged well.

Whenever I see a thread bout terminator it always hits me in my nostalgia feels. literally grew up on these two films in particular.
love Cameron films as a whole. He’s my personal GOAT director.
As to answer this question there is no wrong choice
But for me it’s my #1 FILM OF ALL TIME and that is Judgement Day
it’s the perfect fukin movie. And to whoever said they didn’t like the story I don’t get it bc it’s literally a continuation from the first. And it’s a story that seriously resonates more and more with the times we are currently in and moving toward the future. Between Musk and Bezos we are inching closer and closer to a real skynet.
Sprinkle in an epic score and top tier level visual and special effects. Performances all exceptional. Always said this was Arnold’s BEST performance. Movie is legendary.

I just cannot think of a single thing Titanic does than terminator 2
- it is not “better made”. Both are top tier in production but t2 was absolutely groundbreaking in terms of cgi and tech
- It isnt better acted…linda hamilton is putting on a clinic, and the home invasion scene is fukkin electric and when john connor flips the script, you realize that sara is not a hero, at all…shes fukkin broken and a psycho now
- It isn’t a better story….titanic’s story is about a rich woman who cheats on her man and is reminiscing about a lost love. T2’s is 400 level time travel scifi, and created an entire lore
- And this is by far the most important: terminator 2 is light years more entertaining. Its one of the most rewatchable movies ever made. Titanic is laborious in comparison.

Not to throw myself in defense of Titanic over T2 bc like I previously stated T2 is my fav film of all time. But your reasonings I can not agree with. Titanic was an INCREDIBLE film. And it does have mad repeat value. The film was also groundbreaking for its time. It still has the tie for most Oscar nominations and victories of ALL TIME. no need to slander one Cameron great film for another. I personally very much enjoyed Titanic and have watched it many times over the years. Like almost all of Cameron’s films.
titanic's CGI was groundbreaking at the time. it was the talk of the industry when it dropped.
I do agree T2 is more rewatchable tho.
