thanks i had some health problems this year i am still trying to get my mind and my body back right. i love boxing but it has been a long time and i am still trying to get back and up to date with everything that has been going on in the world.

sometimes it takes a fighter to the end of their careers to finally get big fights. marvin hagler toiled for years in obscurity with little recognition until he finally got his biggest fights and best wins and the most money all at the tail end of his career. sometimes it can shake out that way for a fighter.

it all hit me very recently that terence crawford is very close at pulling off something great historically. i dont think there has been a fighter in a very long time with as high of a ceiling as what he has laid out in front of him right now. who is the last fighter to become undisputed at three weights you may have to go back 100 years and you may not see it happen again for another 100 years. thats a very high ceiling. if terence crawford can pull that off you will have to start seeing his name brought up there in greatest fighter ever discussions.
Hammerin' Hank Armstrong probably

And I wish you a speedy recovery bro. It ain't easy out there with covid lingering aftereffects or any other health issues now days

Bud being some sort of ATG just because he beats Spence and Charlo is just crazy to me.

That's like saying Munguia a HOF because he beat GGG an Andrade next year. :mjlol:

Like nah you can't be some A side star for most of your career, fighting C level guys and the occasional B level guy and then you finally beat two A level guys and its supposed to erase all the years of you avoiding smoke.

Mark my words. If Bud gets away with that, he'll be the new blueprint for the next generation of boxers to follow.

In Crawford's defense there are a lot of guys who are lucky to have one A level guy on their resume, let alone 2.

In LauderdaleBoss's defense, this excuse can't be used for nikkas that are elite big names and on p4p lists for years.

Jrock got Hurd and Charlo on his resume and he was the B side to both and never sniffed a p4p list.

Bud name and stature in the sport is too big for his resume to be so shallow. Imagine how nikkas would look at Canelo if his only big fights were Floyd and GGG.

Luck don't have shyt to do with making significant fights when you've been one of the biggest names in the sport for years. If you can't get that one big fight you want. Make another big fight. The thing is Bud don't wanna fight nobody and it shows.

I'm only gonna go so far with defending Crawford cause I actually agree with a lot of what you said. I'm just saying Spence and Charlo back to back would be very impressive, but I do agree it is the wrong example to set to the future generation.

Spence and Charlo aren't slouches. Everyone doesn't have to be Sugar Ray Leonard. imo those two would be competitive in any generation.

That said imo Bud beating them legitimizes his legacy. IDK how folks worship his Undisputed Run but dont respect Charlos.

him not fighting Spence and Charlo is what sets the wrong example. It would pretty much be like Devin Haney retiring just from his 135 undisputed reign lol.

IMO Legacy = a Balance of Big fights + Belts. Bud speaks like he is content though

Yeah no doubt, beating Spence and Mell decisively back to back is mad impressive, but its not gon excuse Bud of not making significant fights for almost 10 years.

Dude following the Calzaghe blueprint in a division that is actually flooded with talent. HOF talent with a handful of quality wins (that mostly came at the end of his career) and I say this as a big Calzaghe fan. Dude name is damn near forgotten now. Even UK nikkas barely bring him up. That's Crawford future if he keep doing what he doing.

I mean everyone is already saying he is a Hall of Famer without those fights, why shouldn't he feel content? People are just now starting to speak up about his matchmaking, but it's almost too little too late. Hell I been said Crawford is moving like someone who is looking for one last big payday before he hits the old dusty trail anyway. I don't think he cares if people remember him or not he just wants to get paid and I can't say I'm mad at him for that either cause I don't pay his bills.

my thing is just vacate the belt then lol. He got his big payday, now retire and free up the belt so we can move on with the 147 chapter.

But he know's the only leverage he has is holding that one belt hostage otherwise he'd be boo boo status. My thing is at some point I'd think the sanctioning bodies would be like dude is bad for business and just strip him. I'd assume Spence, Boots, or Ortiz are better for business when it comes to holding your title.

That belt is his leverage to a big payday. Lol

People swear the reason nobody wants to fight him and go after Spence is because they think they'll lose. Spence win or lose is a bigger payday than Crawford would be, that's why everyone wants to go after Spence there isn't any money fighting Crawford.

you fanboys disgust me. Where were you nikkas at when Spence was talking about wrong side of the street and how he gonna go the PBC route first. If Crawford ducking now, what was Spence doing then?
Those were obviously easier fights to make so why not go grab the belts at PBC first

They were still here making excuses for Spence ducking for 4 years.. Mikey had no belt... Danny had no belt.. Manny had been stripped.. It took Spene 5 years to say "I want Crawford next" Just for his side to offer $0 guarantee and only 35% backend

I've come to notice a pattern with Spence that I've been wanting to post but wanted to wait till the fight was official. I imagine some of you that really know boxing & analyze things probably saw it too lol. If I noticed it, I'm sure Thurman & his team have & will probably try to do this
