No one is suggesting Bosnian Serbs leave their areas (Srpska) and go to Serbia
I'm saying why isn't Srpska and Serbia joined together?
Why isn't Croatian parts of BH joined with Croatia?
Middle part you leave for Bosniaks
Kosovo joined with Albania
Khalas
Dapped for knowing the terminology and situation...
And for not arguing for removal of ethnicities...
I'm afraid the solution is not that simple...
Serbs and Croats would generally love the division of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but Bosniaks would hate it, and they often accuse the other two ethnicities of having such endgame...
Their fear is understandable, because such division would make foreigners out of a significant portion of Bosniaks...
And any long term solution can't leave one side miserable, it will backfire in the long run...
Serb and Bosniak relationship is delicate, but it has been improving with time, both in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in Sandžak:
Sandžak - Wikipedia
Serbian president was in Sarajevo last year, and the cooperation is good.
He gave a couple of interviews to arguably their greatest journalist Senad Hadžifejzović...
The comments on YouTube were mostly a love fest (strange for such a platform), which made me incredibly proud of all of us...
Even if astroturfed, and possibly even better, since we remember how you make propaganda for a war...
(As much as I despise the current Serbian president and his history, unfortunately sometimes a right-winger has a greater political capital to ensure peace, and not seem weak in the process).
Together Belgrade and Sarajevo are now finally building a highway between them...
Sandžak is very important for this relationship, and there is now a state university there in Novi Pazar, and their politicians have been participating in Serbian government for decades now...
(For Americans possibly the easiest way to check if there is a war propaganda back at home
is to check for common videos of NBA players of different ethnicities,
and compare them to the atmosphere in
Once Brothers documentary from 30 for 30 series).
We see the improving trends in politics, in trade, in culture, in sports...
I'd be somewhat afraid to interrupt such improvements now...
Kosovo is a more difficult issue... mostly for linguistic differences and more animosity, and a couple of unresolved issues:
- a Serb region in the north:
North Kosovo - Wikipedia
- the Albanian region in Serbia that rebelled even against the democratic government after Milošević (the government that pacified Sandžak):
Liberation Army of Preševo, Medveđa and Bujanovac - Wikipedia
- the issue is linked to Macedonia as well
(film recommendation for the atmosphere before the war:
Before the Rain (1994) - IMDb )
- bright spot: Montenegro - an Albanian-Serb coalition got an Albanian elected...
Personally, I'm much more afraid of a possible conflict in Kosovo...
