School will cover them but for kids in grade school it is rough. My friend paid $5k per year between equipment, team/league fees, training clinics, and team travel.

Yeah but you can do low budget on those sports. Its a lot harder to just get in hockey on low budget.

Hokey is dumb expensive to play. Parents putting their kids into this early would have to have money

Not even close to the same equipment cost alone is ridiculous esp when you factor kids growing. Not even getting into league or travel or coaching.
