Ukraine gets all kinds of weapons and even gets their pensions funded off

In any case combating a regressive measure is not the same as backing a progressive measure because the regressive measure puts you in a more negative state from the get go.

illegal immigrants are present recipients of aid, not their descendants.

Do you not see the issue? Even if conservatives or opposition elements to reparations are trolling or acting in bad faith, they can say “well you weren’t directly harmed by slavery or Jim Crow so you aren’t eligible”.

The aid you’re referencing is to current subjects of this disparity.

Latinos crossing the border illegally get free housing, food, potential work permits and other benefits. Haitians get deported. Black Americans who were wronged for over 400 years get absolutely nothing but dreams of a 'study'.

Thats a policy failure, and one I want parity for with regards to all illegal migrants, but this is about reparations.

Somehow people who broke the law to come here get cash immediately but actual citizens who were wronged get promises of 'i'll think about it' come voting season.

Because we’re talking about present migrants and you have to sell people on the idea that dead ancestors and their lineage deserve compensation.
