The Luka trade? Who did this team have to offer similar to AD? I still don’t get why Dallas was willing to trade Luka at all.
And no one really does. My guess is that there has been some fukkery behind the scenes related to his conditioning and the Mavs are fed up. Or that the new owner sees the salary cap implications of giving Luka the supermax and doesnt want to pay the tax. Who knows?

It would have been nice to get Luka but no one knew Luka was available to be had via trade until last night.

  • Jimmy going to the Warriors with $121M extension
  • We get Wiggins, Anderson and Shroeder and a 1st round pick.
I hope we're ditching Wiggins to someone else too. I dont like his contract. :lupe:

Meh.. i dont think he has much left in the tank, does he? :lupe:
He can at least help with Ware;s development. Ware can use some help when it comes to positioning sometimes. I would have thought Kevin Love could have helped him there but the more the merrier.

Im surprised we didnt use the opportunity to get rid of Duncan Robinson's contract too. :jbhmm:

That shyt is pretty long, but I was able to listen to the whole thing while in traffic.

I remember Wiggins being a bust and then quietly redeeming himself in Golden State. It did not occur to me that he became much better on defense. That will help him when it comes to getting playing time in Miami.

Duncan and Herro aren’t very good defenders so I’m sure he will get some minutes from Spoelstra if his defense is still up to par like they say it became.

I doubt Riley wanted him in particular, but he was needed to make the salaries fit. He should mesh well with the ball movement we have.

THE GAWDFATHER IS A fukkING WEIRDO.

"Jimmy Butler's interpretation of Miami Heat team president Pat Riley's actions during a Jan. 7 meeting reportedly sealed the disgruntled star's decision to find a way out of South Florida.

According to James Jackson, Sam Amick and Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic, Butler did not react well to Riley becoming emotional and tearing up when talking to Butler about the death of his father, which occurred last year.

Riley's father died when the Basketball Hall of Famer was 25, and while he attempted to connect with Butler on that common ground, Butler reportedly felt Riley came across as "unhinged and disturbing."

Butler and Riley met in person on the afternoon of Jan. 7 to establish some ground rules for how this messy situation would proceed. What followed, according to sources on both sides, was instead an emotional, two-hour sit-down that left Butler bewildered by his 79-year-old boss’ behavior and Riley at a loss for how to reach the mercurial 35-year-old star.

From Butler’s vantage point, Riley was “unhinged and disturbing,” as a league source close to him described it. More specifically, Butler told those close to him that the longtime team president referenced Butler’s recently deceased father several times during the meeting, offered “unsolicited and unwanted” parenting advice and even shed tears before ending the meeting by telling Butler he loved him
