I don't like the anime route Tekken has gone with their characters either. Some of the newer characters don't even have legit fighting styles which is why I tend to stick with a lot of the older characters. I'm glad Miguel and Lee are in though. Still waiting on Armor King

Doubt Armor King will be happening, they gave some of his moves to King already

those are all things scrubs and casuals care about, meanwhile it has some of the best fighting gameplay I've seen. I'm sure you dont care about things that though

Nope, KOF is more piff, gameplay wise. Tekken is a casual game itself.

I've been competing on arcade casuals since TTT1.

Tekken has the hardest learning curve out of any fighting game, why do you think they added a character to attract players from other fighting games

Beginners can easily mash buttons from the get go. Now if you are talking about competitive learning curve, every FG have a hard one.

Of course I'm talking competitively though, I don't understand why anyone would spend 60$ on a game and not try to ascend to beyond button mashing :what:

Still easy compared to BB and KOF. Just learn basic movements, launchers, juggle combos, parries, wavedash, stepbacks and zoning and you're good to go. Combos in Tekken is easier to pull compare to Vs, BB and KOF.

Beginners can mash buttons with each other in any fighting game.

Yeah but, you can basically pull specials in Tekken just by mashing buttons. Sidescroller FGs requires more precise directional buttons with their specials like the shoryukens and hadokens. You can actually beat a single arcade run by mashing buttons on Tekken. Same can't be said in others.

That happens in all fighting games, not just Tekken. And not all people buy FG to compete, just saying. Some are playing for casuals. And Tekken is the most recognizable game to casuals, even more so than Street Fighter. Tekken is more accessible to noobs, because simply they can beat single player modes by mashing buttons.

You can beat Single Player in Street Fighter by mashing buttons too on lower difficulties. You can't just mash buttons and beat Tekken on the hardest setting. The character story mode in Street Fighter V has babies on youtube beating it.

If you agree that Tekken is the most popular FG today, then you pretty much agree that it is the most accessible game to casuals. Like it or not, these casuals are the majority of sales numbers. Normal difficulty in Tekken is pretty much equivalent to easy mode of other FGs. I can beat it in its maximum difficulty, while I might rage quit on others, even on the easiest settings.
