He seems really good, he has a tool for everything. Gonna give him a spin at my locals tonight and see how it goes
I think in the end you'll see a lot of people sticking with him more so than Geese
For having such a straightforward and useful toolset, Noctis requires a lot of character knowledge to play against. He has very easy Block Punishers and Whiff Punishers, and isn't particularly unsafe outside of his gimmicks. Even though his gimmicks are very punishable, they take some dedicated time in training mode to deal with properly. Namco went way out of the way to make him beginner friendly. Playing with him makes me realize what a half-assed job they did on Gigas. Although I do see a certain irony when people who mash out strings with Josie fall for Noctis's gimmicks.
Why is geese hated
Geese, Eliza, and Akuma require a lot of execution to use properly. Not a problem for someone who has experience in fighting games, but they are not beginner friendly at all. I find it a bit contradictory that a bunch of casuals voted for Eliza in the pick-a-character contest, and then Namco basically made her so that a casual would never play her. Then they make Noctis the most casual friendly character possible.
I wouldnt say that. Tekken 5 was the GOAT IMO. Tekken 3 is often regarded as the goat cuz its the first one many have played. Id put it right behind 5 tho.
Tekken 3 is the GOAT because it's the best selling game in the franchise, which means it the Tekken game that the most people have played. It was the first Tekken to incorporate the side step, side throw, chicken and low parry. It was a huge step forward from Tekken 2.
Despite the fact that Ogre, Ling, and Jin were pretty broken in T3, somehow T5 managed to be worse with Steve's infinite, Heihachi's god-tier jab punish, and Feng's ultra cheap b+1. T5 was the first Tekken game to implement the crush system, which had both casuals and vets calling Tekken "random" for the first time. It's when hopkicks started to get out of control. T5DR fixed the balance issues, and is one of the best games in the Franchise, but overall T3 did more for the series, and didn't need two balances patches to do it.
