Breh if my homeboy, who I've known since high school....who I started a rap group with in the early 90's....is still rapping....and he's getting clowned for being too old when he hurt himself on stage....when all he's trying to do is entertain his fans....then if I'm Andre I gotta be feeling like I dodged a bullet. And I'm saying this as someone that doesn't agree with his stance on age and hip-hop.

Fred.

So you're saying cause some idiots clown Big Boi for still making music (which I honestly never really hear in person or anywhere) it's cool for Andre to not make music? That's pure cowardice. And it's also one of the main reasons I feel he's one of the most overrated rappers of all time. He's a scary dude. Scared to make a solo. Scared of how some may feel about him rapping at an older age.

:salute: to Big Boi for continually putting out dope, adult Hip Hop music well past 35 years old.

another Big L reaction :krs:

this time its the legendary Big L + Jay Z freestyle :blessed:

the boy out here getting sponsorships too :wow:

One thing I noticed. He doesnt catch slick lines like that. Which is why I take some of these reactions to elite lyricists with a grain of salt. For instance. He missed MAJORITY of the slick shyt Jay said in his first verse.

:yeshrug: its a first reaction and not a review so it is what it is. i remember i missed a lot of what Jay was saying on my first listen too so it adds to the authenticity.

one thing i did notice tho is that the boy seems to be very biased against Jay, possibly due to the type of Jay music he grew up with since he probably has never listened to any of his 90s output or anything before 99 Problems. Even when he himself admitted that Jay's performance on the freestyle was undeniable, he kinda downplayed it a little by saying that something still felt a little off in comparison to Big L, which is fair since its his own opinion, but I never once felt that way even if I thought Big L was better on the freestyle.

No. None of that.

Let's keep it a thousand: Jay-Z got absolutely WASHED in this freestyle. It's hilarious how much better Big L is on this than him.

And I fukk with Jay-Z. He's an obvious goat. But if we keep an additional thousand, Jay-Z is elite but there are a fair number of dudes who outrap him when it comes to flow and rhymes. I always stress the importance of great production because that is the major reason Jay-Z is ahead of the pack. He understands great, trend-setting beats and hopped on the good ones. And Jay-Z also realized that his flow was hindering him. His voice is a little better than average but that's about it. So he improved that over time and once he got into his Vol 2 pocket, it was game over. I totally understand when younger people go "ehh, I dunno about Jay-Z" because a lot of older heads keep giving the youngstas RD to listen to. That's not where you start with Jay-Z. Vol 2 - Black Album is Jay-Z at his best.
