Listen to what these younger dudes say after hearing Pete Rock and Cl Smooth - Troy for the first time
:martin:

Geto Boys - mind playing tricks.

Dude with the glasses never heard it before... check out what he says after hearing the song
:what:

Just shows you how they don’t no any hiphop history or anything
How dude going to say o that Pete rock song isn’t a top 90s song when they think 90s they think big and pac but the 80s and early 90s the style and songs where completely different they just to stupid to realize that.

This is why hiphop is shyt now you got a whole bunch of people in the game who have no respect or appreciation for the past. If you don’t like it fine dude is like I would rather listen to lil windex is straight disrespect.

Constantly shyt on classics.

Them nikkas ignorant as fukk. And it aint about them being young. They just dumb as fukk. And would be regardless of age. I know young nikkas that would call them nikkas dumb.

This is why I feel like "culture vulture" is often a weak label. Truth be told MOST black kids today don't know shyt about hip hop history. Same with white kids. They're focused on what was hot now, plus what was hot when they were younger (Wayne, Gucci, etc). These kids don't know or care about Biggie, Pac, etc. I'm sure a large group do go back and stream old shyt...but overall most don't.

This is pretty different from rock btw. I remember kids writing their favorite bands on their notebooks in high school, and older bands often came up. Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, etc. Of course Nirvana, which wasn't as old as 70s/80s shyt. But with rock pretty much dead now, it's starting to seem like even classic rock is being ignored by white kids today. There's probably some snot nosed Imagine Dragons stan 15 year old who doesn't give a shyt about The Beatles.
