Rocker Ted Nugent has apologized – well, sort of – for calling President Barack Obama a "subhuman mongrel," but the outrage it caused on both sides remains hot.

On Friday, Nugent told Dallas' WBAP radio "I apologize for using the street fight terminology of subhuman mongrel," adding that he should have called Obama a "violator of his Constitution, the liar that he is."

An alliance between Nugent and Texas gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott has started a war of rhetoric by pundits and politicans on all sides of the issue.

So far, Abbott has stuck to his guns (both literally and figuratively, in all likelihood) keeping Nugent on his campaign trail. Here's what he and others have said about Nugent and his flammatory comments.

Wonder if he'll be at the RNC convention again. Look at this weak ass response by Rick Perry.

I thought this thread would have been made already. This was a big thing on Twitter a few days ago.

there's no point to paying attention any of this shyt

Yes there is. The mid-term elections are this year and the Republicans are probably going to win back to Senate. The Democrats and the media are going to play up stories like this in order to get their base of low information voters worked up so that the turn out for the election.

That comes mighty close to being a threat. At least the way I first read it.

He won't do a damn thing. This is the same dude who shyt himself to avoid the draft. All his gun-toting, militant rhetoric is toothless. The more dangerous thing is that he might influence people who actually would do something like that.
