We use to have teachers that you knew not to fukk with. You can tell they are cut from a different cloth and they will punch a whole through your chest or empty out a clip on your ass. That was in the hood though. Them type of teachers aint gone be a suburban schools. Its like when you act too nice to these section 8 babies they try to play you for a hoe. Now the nice teachers that aint no bytch gotta make decisions in the heat of the moment. “Should i let this bytch nikka keep calling me a bytch, hoe, and nikka, and throw shyt at me? Or should i beat the breaks off his ass for the sake of my dignity and for my ancestors that didnt play that shyt”. Im so happy im not in that profession and feel sorry for my people that have to deal with these p*ssy ass kids

Ok ... Now things make more sense . My stance has changed .

But they were both wrong . Teacher has the higher onus of deflecting provocation and diffusing tension placed on him, however .

I will say this

Anyone is the teaching field or any black person should be supporting this man. This was an investment in having a social conversation of how kids interact with teachers. The respect is gone and something has to be done.

And we shouldn't let news warp what happened and side with parents (mothers) who wanna act shocked that their little b*stard are running amok.

Not one father has been shown acting like the kid didn't deserve because we all know each and everyone of us men would have handled that kid. Whether it was beating him to a pulp or slamming him around, all of you would have put hands on the kid

Except @Benefited who probably isn't a man anyway

Teachers aren’t gonna support him like that and neither would the average person. Again , they were both wrong .

Teacher has the higher responsibility placed on him for diffusing any tenuous matter with a child/student non violently .

And it also won’t be perceived well that he stole off first, despite being berated and hit in the leg with a basketball (and that IS assault), which many won’t consider adequate provocation .

However, I place the most onus on the school and its administrators . Apparently he had already been jumped by some kids... they know the type of population that they’re teaching , so adequate training, featuring deescualtion techniques and NCI Core techniques should have been mandatory for him and anyone teaching there.

I’ve done mentorship working with low income teens who had already been exposed to the criminal justice system with their cases resolved via deferred prosecution, and were nearly entirely disconnected and in the streets ... and at the very least, NCI Core was required before participation in the mentorship program began Because the population was that high risk.

He didn’t react as a professional, he reacted like any other Joe Blow who’d had enough and was trying maintain his dignity.

And that’s a huge problem for that school and its administrators... and ultimately the students and the preservation of a learning environment there.

I've worked at a middle school so I can definitely relate. He was wrong for doing what he did but that kid wanted it too. He just gave that kid some physical education he was begging for.

See folks, this is what you do when kids/students try to challenge you,you simply pull their card and expose them to the class. They will then look stupid to the rest of the class for all that yapping they been doing. At worst they will get angry enuff to make the first physical move, but that is doubtful.

If a student is begging for your attention you should give it to them, then flip them on their head mentally to where they result to childish insults,or throw that baby boy punch that you catch mid air like Ving Rhames.

You can’t put hands on people kids under any circumstances. You know these situations come with the job.

This isn’t even a generational thing, I have stories for days about the crazy shyt that went down in school, from grade school and up. I’ve seen it all, including a situation just like this, and worse.

I remembered I got laid-off from a job I had at Merrill-Lynch, and my boy who was a teacher, suggested I substitute teach, I flirted with the thought of going the teacher route in College.
I gave it a try for about 4 months, Money was decent ($200 per day) but it was more about the experience, and if that was going to be my career path.

Maaaaaaaan. You gotta have patience, it’s mainly the parents and homes these kids come from that leads to the behavior problems, But you should know coming into the Job, this is a given. You can tell Dude was doing it for a quick buck and wasn’t suitable for the job. The minute he starts wiling, you leave and call Security, especially as an substitute.

there were other ways to handle that...teacher was all the way wrong and deserves all the consequences.....:francis:
Thats being passive....this lil latino kid needed to be smacked.... being the soft black man seems the norm these days. You can tell he wasn't raised right or has no father in his life. You couldn't talk reckless to a blk man back in the day without getting your teeth smacked out or your wig pushed back. nikkas nowadays is soft...letting their women run em, disrespected on all levels without no repercussions
