You have absolutely ZERO clue what ur saying.
Go to the CMT website and look at their Top 20 countdown list. Listen to a few of the songs. It's a varierty of music and Taylor Swift isnt even the top song on the countdown. And it's not for old people.
The average white girl, and depending on where you live black girls/hispanic girls in the South like country music. I'm talking ages 15-25
I don't go down south unless it's to one of the multi-million cities, I'd rather go to Damascus right now.
But anyways, I know about a lot of these artists. I'm still talking about successful artists, not their equivalence of randoms.
Competition is very scarface, I went on the CMT's site and out of all artists on the first side the only one with an album out was Taylor Swift and Billy Cyrus (whose album debuted at
#157 ). And when I say scarce, I mean that she's got 3-4 relevant female competitors (females are younger as well). And with men 70% of the relevant cats are in their late 30s to 50s. So when you get a new artist that RCA or the other label will push it and obviously these rednecks in the small cities will eat it. If hiphop only had 2 labels and they controlled they controlled the outlet of cds maybe it would be as a boring and commercially & internationally irrelevant genre and we'd have more people going platinum but less people dropping dope albums.
And as far as Taylor Swift goes, black eyed peas are more hiphop than she is country.
