Just because Tariq doesn't like someone doesn't mean the person is bad, bed or buck
Tariq outsourced development of the app to a bunch of foreigners. After months of delays, they finally released a "beta" for the iOS. Tons of issues with sign-ups, app was extremely buggy. Last I checked, it hadn't been updated since November of last year. After that, he kept saying that the Android version would be coming in a couple of months. Never happened. There was a supposed disagreement between the iOS and Android team and the Android folks couldn't get certain resources they needed from the iOS team. Now one or both teams wants more money and he isn't willing to pay them. Now he claims to be standing up a website that can be accessed from any device.
If you're waiting on MoorUs, just go to Black Junction or Blaqspot. Tariq never should have done a social media site to begin with because he knows nothing about development. He should have just put his money and name behind someone else's platform instead. Now, he has two websites that don't work worth a shyt. But, he was able to lower his risk thanks to folks like myself donating money thinking he was going to get it right.

I do not believe that you need to be an expert to create something.. Black people need their own social media.. We are alwys dependant on cacs and their formats, then cry and complain when they ban us

I don't believe you need to be an expert either. But you need to have some knowledge of what you're doing in order to make sure shyt is getting done the way you want it.
Example, I invest in real estate. Sometimes, I use cash from folks who want to invest in real estate, have the money, but lack the time and/or knowledge to properly do it. But they know enough about the deals happening in order to avoid losing their investment. During initial development, some of the things Tariq was saying in regards to the comments developers made towards him tells me that if he had just a bit of knowledge about what was going on, he could have prevented this. I personally emailed Flex on 2 or 3 occasions, with a resume, saying i'd be willing to assist him for free because it sounded like those guys were fukkin up.
Blaqspot and Black Junction have been around for roughly a year. Those guys had far less money and notoriety than Tariq, but their platforms are stable and much more advance because both owners either are or have some sort of development experience. They work very closely with development teams to make sure things are getting done.
Id stay away from anything Boyce is doing if I were you.

Boyce did that Resurrecting Black Wall Street film a few years ago. The production quality was so bad, he had to pull it off the shelf after folks had already started buying it. He had to refilm and repackage the damn movie as a different movie. That's how bad it was. Boyce is a finance guy at heart. He only got caught up in doing things like DVDs because he saw Tariq, Jeremy Smith, and others profiting off them. And since you're interested in making sure things are black owned, Boyce is working with some crackers now over at Maven talking about it ain't white owned. Take one look at company leadership lol.
Both sites are majority black owned. Blaqspot is the better of the two in my opinion, but it's subscription based now which a lot of folks disagree with. Boyce, Phil from Advise Show and several others have shouted out and used Blaqspot. The CEO of that site is very outspoken and transparent on YT. Here's his channel: Blaqspot

DVD quality was bad.. but he just started making DVD's so he is gonna make mistake like anyone who goes into a new venture..
I aint mad at him for going into the game after he saw others have success.. He is a businessman and a finance professor, he wants to make money.. like every other businessman.. I fail to see the issue here

The problem is Boyce lacks the passion. And more often than not, when you don't truly give a fukk about what you're working on, the end results show it. The problems with that film weren't just beginners mistakes. It was straight up neglect. It was something a person puts out when they are just trying to make money because all the cool kids are doing it. Same with his books. Any good businessman knows if the shyt you are putting out is good, that only helps your brand. But if you're putting out trash, folks ain't gonna support you that next time around.
