For the umpteenth time, being "open" to what the GOP "is talking about" is the same behavior as continually falling for the the DNC's benign neglect.
You know goddamn well what the GOP and Trump is saying. They don't have jack shyt to offer us.
Their message has been consistent about that for several decades now.

However, it's especially stupid to say this about Trump, because he already ran for and held the office.
And he fukked the country up while he was in.
The needle actually moved back for Black people under Trump because police murders of unarmed Black people exploded as did the activity of white supremacists groups due to Trump's dog whistling and understated support.
Black Americans did not make any significant social gains under Trump's administration.
Even before that, Trump is not an intelligent person nor is he politically astute.

Just because Trump likes to have nikkas as pets and doesn't outright talk shyt about us like he does the Mexicans and Muslims, doesn't mean he gives a rat ass about us.
Hoping he'll do anything of substance for Black people is truly hoping for a butter biscuit from Massa's table.
Black people really need to be smarter than this in the new millennium.

I agree with Tariq on a lot of things, but politics is where he is out of his depth.
He is correct about the DNC's benign neglect and their tactics to ensure Black people's support in exchange for nothing tangible.
Everything else he says about politics is poorly thought out and fueled by his personal vendetta against the DNC.
Tariq is a shameless self-promoter, which he needs to be.
However, there's a difference between a self-promoter and a grifter.
