Sounds like you're ignorant to the world around you. That's your problem.

You didn't answer my question. What has changed for black people over the last 20-30 years?

We've experienced both democrats and republicans in power. Ain't shyt changed. Don't matter who is in office, same bullshyt happens.

Now please tell me why I should vote again?

Obamacare. My mother had no insurance before it passed. She works at a small business that did not offer medical but she earned too much to qualify for a state medical card. She has free healthcare now with no copay.

Well I live in Tennessee where most people still don't have healthcare because Obamacare did nothing for people who live in Republican States where the local government could opt out of the Medicare expansion. Guess where most black people live? In those southern republican states where the republicans still run all the local governments and thus didn't expand Medicare for poor people who can't afford healthcare.

So while your mother benefited, most black people in this country did not benefit from Obamacare in ANY WAY. All Obamacare did was just benefit the insurance companies by forcing everyone to buy health insurance now or have to pay a fine. Instead of doing a single payer health care plan that would have covered everyone and gotten rid for the private health insurance industry, Obama and the Democrats instead decided to basically repackage the plan Gingrich and the Republicans put forward back in the 1990s and sell it to us as change.

This is why I said voting and politics is bullsh*t. Even Obamacare that you want to champion as some great accomplishment for black people didn't really help us at all. All it did was maybe help some white people in northern states. But it ain't do nothing for the majority of the black population that lives in the South because rather than doing SINGLE PAYER, Obama and the Dems just did what the Republicans wanted and in turn screwed over black people.

Are you this dumb or just playing?

No amount of black people voting is gonna shift the South from being republican. Whites in the South have consolidated their vote and basically behave as a monolith. Go and look up the voting numbers in states like Mississippi and Louisiana. Black folks are 40% of the population and make up 40% of the vote each election and yet the republicans keep winning cause 80% of white people vote republican in a monolithic manner.

Obama and the Dems should have known that the Republicans in the South would block medicare expansion in those states because black people would be the biggest beneficiaries and we all know white people will never allow black people to ever benefit from anything. But Obama and the Dems don't care about black people. So they just went for a cheap political victory rather than doing actual change to help black people. Single payer was the only way black people would have benefited but they didn't do single payer. Instead they did the Republican plan and didn't do anything to help black people.

Maybe if you and people like you voted, you wouldnt have Republicans running the government. You should be out there voting for every mayoral and governor election.

See my above response and replace the titles with congressman and senators.

Based on what you're saying here, Republicans want to screw over black people, correct? So why wouldnt you vote to get them out of office. You either engage or dont but don't try to recruit of that black people to follow that flawed ideology.

You've convinced yourself that voting has no value. You could be given a thousand examples of how voting positively affected black people and you will disregard it if all black people didnt benefit from it. I see you didnt address the State Attonery Kim Foxx election and her follow up actions I also mentioned in post. You chose to tackle Obamacare because you had a argument although flawed, that all black people cant enjoy the benefit of Obamacare because you live in a state where Republicans chose to deny you of it. You still won't try to vote them out. :stopitslime:

You niccas are exhausting, thats enough of my energy for today.

Don't matter how many black people vote in the South, there are more white people. In the South they vote as a monolith thus making it impossible for anyone other than their preferred candidate winning any state wide election. Mississippi is by percentage the blackest state in the country. 40% of the population is black. Yet republicans win every elections because 80% of whites vote republican.

What you don't get is that my argument here has nothing to do with the state wide elections. I know we ain't ever gonna win those. But we have the chance to win the national elections. Which is why when Democrats win and then they turn around and do nothing for us, that's why I'm saying voting is worthless. In 2009, we had a black Democratic President. We had a FILIBUSTER PROOF Democratic Senate and an overwhelmingly Democratic House. Democrats controlled every level of government at the national level. And rather than using the political capital to accomplish actual change, the Democrats turned around and fukked us by doing nothing, bending over backwards for the republicans and then giving us that bullsh*t healthcare bill that was the same plan the Republicans wanted to pass in the 1990s when Hillary Clinton was trying to pass her bill.

You are either some young kid or extremely uninformed. I used to be a believer in voting. I voted for Obama in 2008 and 2012. In 2008 I actually thought he might do something. In 2012 I voted for him just cause he was black. I didn't want a black President to have only 1 term. But over those 8 years he didn't do nothing for us. And in 2009-2010 when they had all that power, the Democrats did nothing. That's when I realized this politics game is just a racket. The dems ain't trying to do anything for us. They talk a big game but they never do anything. That's why I don't give a fukk anymore or vote.

Fool me once....shame on YOU. Fool me twice....shame on ME. I ain't gonna get fooled again with this voting shyt. PERIOD.

I live in NC. In 2016 higher black voter turnout I'm Durham, NC swung the governor's election from red to blue.

In Charlotte, high black voter turnout in the primaries led to first time at large candidates on city council and a black female mayor.

Those white people conditioned you well.

I skimmed what you wrote because like I said, yall are exhausting but lets be clear...I'm not young nor am I uninformed. The nerve lol. However, what it sounds like to me is ya ass need to move. If you're living in a state where you're just hopeless because there are more white people who vote for people who don't value you as citizen, you should move. If you arent going to move, do something to TRY and change your circumstances or do nothing (which is what it appears you have chose to do) continue to be hopeless and unrepresented.

Look. The history on this is pretty clear around the country. Whenever the black population in an area increases, the white vote becomes more monolith. Its what's happening right now in Texas. People thought more Mexicans would turn that state blue. Instead the white vote just became more Republican. I know this is hard for c00ns like you to believe but white people hate us more than anything. Even more than whatever political theory they grow up under. Once they see black people or other non-whites having some political power, they just become more monolithic.

But go ahead and keep thinking these Democrats are ever gonna do anything for you. Go and read my following post. I talk about how the Democrats held every level of government in Washington in 2009 and still didn't do nothing for us. So even if we all vote and get all democrats in the government, how do we know they'll ever do anything for us? Last time we gave them all the power in 2009, they didn't do NOTHING.

How the fukk does he know that though? I literally just detailed out how I demanded action on the police union contract from my local rep here. How would Tariq know I or any collective of black folks arent doing the same? What Tariq should be doing is creating a PAC or some type of organization that does exact what you said, threaten to hold the votes of his organization until XYZ needs are met but he won't. His brand of bullshyt is being put to better use by making black folk question why they should be voting in the first place. He's a crab in the barrel as nicca and so are the people who promote his rhetoric to other black people.
It all boils down to money with tariq ... he don’t care about anything else .....

I disagree with @Swagnificent wholeheartedly ... but refuse to argue on the same side as ostentatious HL libs...:wow:so I’m gonna pivot.

Voting for Dems does nothing to meaningfully help black people:mjlit:
...might as well stay home:lolbron:
