I think the average American thinks Africa is all dirt roads, garbage lined streets, old ass cars, scammers that hack people up with machetes, hut villages with no plumbing or cell reception, and vacation resorts that are walled off from everything else that cater to tourists and are owned by foreigners.

And from what I read on here, they're not far off.
