Josh Barnett is awful. No charisma or energy and just makes the most obvious statements. Calls matches like they're announcing on radio or reading off a paper.

Ross calling Bate/Dunne so well is proof that he just doesn't have an investment in NJPW.
He's called most of these guys in matches for the last year, didn't bother building the spectacle, or treating hardly any of the event like an introduction to US audiences.
As was said before, most of the commentary was like a by-the-numbers radio call, tonally off, or interrupted the flow of the proceedings.
