JR is a bit better on the in studio recorded AXS tv shoes but he still seems to somehow be new to the product a lot of the time.

Biggest thing with new Japan. There are no long promos or storylines for him to react too. That's what is lacking.

This isn't surprising. A lot of us were calling JR out when people got excited about him going back to work for WWE he's not that good anymore.



Meltzer comes off as the type of guy who barely fact checks his sources. His puro coverage is a big example.

Yeah, great as he is he's just not suited to call that style. Can't even pronounce Ingobernables properly, among other things.

He hasn't been great calling any type of wrestling for a while now. He's decent, and that's fine imo, he had like a 20 year peak.

The moment Vince made it mandatory for the announcers to call every single thing with the "low, serious tone to make it seem it's real", Ross started to give less of a fukk and eventually never got it back.

I think his last great call was the Taker vs Michaels match at WM 25.

JR only works these days to sell spots. I've told people before but Matt Striker carried him through WK9 handling all of the storylines and names (JR was completely lost during the multi-man matches) allowing JR to just do what he does best and go 'BAH GAWD!' whenever someone does an apron spot or vicious knee strike.

They balanced each other out very well. And you always need someone to check Striker, Vampiro does it all the time in LU too.
