I just got back from Japan like a couple of months ago...it was so eye opening.

I realize that even they think anime is for weirdos and it's mostly kiddie porn.

It's also made mostly for the consumption of white male foreigners. Japan produces a huge amount of porn (i never knew that) but the country is trying to crack down on all the child trafficking and a lot of that has to do with foreigners (white european and Americans)

Also, the country was really affected by the war. They are wary of westerners (white people) but really seem to have no issue with black people. The women love black men and marry a lot of them but they don't care too much for white people.

I also realized how much of what we believe about Japan comes from a white male perspective. Walking around Tokyo I noticed Japanese school girls coming home from school and it struck me that these grown white men fetishized these little girls...gross.

Black people should stop following after everything white people are into without questioning it first, e.g., anime.... is all i'm saying..

Japan is a great country though but nothing like you expect. They aren't weird, or asexual and all that bullshyt.

Most anime characters always came off "Eurasian" to me. Defintely not 100% raceless. So I'm gonna continue to assume darker-skinned ones are black, Indian, etc.

Well to be fair in DragonBall z at the highest powerlevel super saiYan 5 or something like that I think they have "dark" features.

1. They don't have small eyes because I don't think asians view themselves as having small eyes You may not view yourself as dark skinned but a cac or asian might think you're super black.

2. The eyes are actually an influence from Disney who brought cartoon to Japan after the war.

Anime have various different types of hair colour, from pink hair, purple, blue, all kinds. You know how hard it would be to ID the characters if they all had black hair and black eyes? I already think them asians look the same, lets not do it in the anime too.

Yep. I noticed in many animes the lead characters are blond: Full Metal Alchemist, Elric brothers and their father (as well as the lead bad guy), Sailor Moon, Naruto, Bleach etc. Many of their animes like Full Metal have German themed. They are still obsessed with Germany. Their characters rarely look Asian. Like I said in another thread, they know how to draw Asian looking characters since they draw Chinese characters like Chang on Gundam Wing with an Asian look, yet the Japanese characters look like the European characters. Thai people come in all colors as do most SE Asians. There are extremely dark ones, extremely pale ones and every shade in between. The whitening lotion isn't used to imitate white people; the whitening lotion helps remove all skin impurities such as sun damage, acne, etc. giving them a flawless look.
