So Cal
they didn't drop no ball with punk. and yall need to realize everybody don't see Punk as some all time great. I think Punk over achieved in WWE.
You're bringing your personal feelings in it, I'm not. He had a chance to be bigger and hhh inserted himself into the equation and they dropped the ball with that whole thing. Nobody talks about summer of punk's great ending, that's my point. But @The Collector said it don't fit the criteria so :hubie:.

I think MVP was one of the bigger fumbles. He was a total package talent to me. I definitely felt like after his US title run, he was gonna be movin' up the card, but shyt went the other way...

Kennedy is kinda a double-edged sword. Between '06-'07, he seemed like he was well on his way toward bein' a top guy. After '07, shyt was never the same. I think all that talking he did about steroids only to get popped for purchasing 'em was the thing that undid him.

Rusev around the Rusev Day time... they fukked that one up. I ain't sayin' he shoulda been champ or nothin', but he surely shoulda gotten more than he did. A number of times, shoulda gotten some kinda big celebration moment in front of the crowd, but it never happened. Next thing you know, he was a heel again and that was that. Blah.

Some of these dudes bein' mentioned, tho'... I don't really see it. :yeshrug: Especially the ones who held the WWE or World title, because some of them were IC/US title guys at best who overachieved like a MF... shoutout to Del Rio, Christian, Ziggler. Everybody can't be top guys, some of the people mentioned were in the middle and rightfully.

And as for Punk... if he's a drop-the-ball, I'd love to see what some of these other wrestlers think. I bet MVP or Barrett woulda loved to be champion for over a year, wrestle all the top stars, and be a top star themselves :russ: He had some legit gripes after he left, but I also think he also had some gripes that made no sense. He got a lot more than most but acted like he was gettin' buried the whole time.

Too many to count. I'm sure you could go back to the Vince Sr. era, too, but especially the entire time VKM has been in charge, any given year you'll see so many guys either kept out of top spots because they weren't allowed to compete with the top face at the time (be it Hogan, Austin, Cena, Roman) or existing just to be fed to them no matter how popular or talented they were.

  1. I don't care if they felt he was unmarketable, Luke Harper should have held the strap for at least a month
