Did someone throw a punch at the end? Right before the shooting started?
Yup! What I can’t tell is if it was Quavo, the dude he was arguing with, or someone else in one of the two entourages. Quavo said let’s go so I don’t think it was him.

If you ever lost every dime you had with one roll, you’d understand. What I don’t understand is why millionaires would play in the streets.

Nipsey was big in his market just like Dolph was big in his even if you ain’t listen to them you knew of them they was the culture the person I was speaking to downplayed how important to the culture the guys who died were.

I hear what nikkas in my generation demographic listen to Kendrick isn’t being bumped like that and isn’t a strong urban artist anymore ever since 2015 when he himself said “LA we got work to do my city only bought so and so copies of my album”

Most these lil nikkas coming up today bump straight drill truthfully and mainstream street rap they ain’t listening to Drake, and Cole, and Kendrick like that

Outside of Durk, Detroit music is more popular in Southern California among black kids then drill.

Consumers. The culture.

Polo G and Kodak Black are two of my favorite artists from this generation.

I said it in a post awhile back in NYC there were two teenage rappers a decade apart. There was one who was an industry plant with a performing arts school background who branded himself as a conscious MC and the other was a drill rapper who got signed off the strength of the streets getting behind him. These rappers are Joey BADA$$ and Kay Flock and guess who did way more numbers in way less time off their first single.

I’ve already spoken on how Chief Keef came into the game as the complete opposite of what blog era label A&R’s were looking for (the clean cut, 20 something year old, every man rapper) and he did it off the strength of a viral hit and the culture.

We choose.

I always said that in 2012, a lot of people from both the streets and corporate boardrooms were mad that Kendrick Lamar transcended to superstar status because everyone would emulate the "everyday man" MC and would have led to a new era of positivity and quality music. Chief Keef came in as a last-ditch effort to drag the mindstate of rap back to negativity and celebrating ignorance. It worked, and it led to Young Thug, Future, and Drill rap.

I assumed the first noise is the first shot. Sounds more like a gun shot than a punch. People then scatter and at that point there’s more gun shots. Takeoff still seems to standing as people scatter after the first gun shot, then after the repeated gun shots he seems to be on the floor. So was caught in the middle when people doing multiple shots

But does make more sense if the first noise is a punch and shyt escalated.

Just a damn shame however it happened. shyt was barely heated

nikkas need to start being nicer to each other thats something that is simple and we can all do. Even on here look how quick dudes will disrespect each other over an opinion or any trivial shyt. It always starts w something small and snowballs into tragedy.

If the story is true about how this happened Quavo is going to be fukked up over this for a long time, losing a family member over something that could have been avoided :mjcry:
My man’s got killed over his little brother stealing a purse. He ran home and when his brother came out he got shot. His brother been a bum since. We were around 18. nikkas don’t understand that something so small can cause someone around you to get hurt. It’s sad we are quick to kill each other but won’t do shyt to Racists who actually deserve that energy

I can see that. I think it was 03 Greedo who said Louisiana rap was also big in LA.

In Buffalo, New York another city I lived in, Detroit rap like Band Gang was more popular than drill and the kids loved Youngboy. When I was in Philadelphia it was drill and their dance music. Jersey it’s drill and Jersey club (now in the Bronx and Jersey music scenes they mix both). Here in NYC it’s drill and melodic street rap.
