I mean, call it whatever you want, but if you take into account the $20 or so you’ll spend on that, it’s really not that bad.
Take for example AC:O. I bought the game and spent $25 on in-game credits to gain access to better equipment that I would of had to grind for otherwise. I didn’t want to waste my time doing that, so I didn’t mind paying that money. Yeah, that’s like paying for cheat codes, but when you think about it, $85 for a game I spent 50hours on, is still a great value, compared to other forms of entertainment.

RDR2 will have two single player missions, a bank robbery and a gang hideout completely locked behind a paywall...
You have to purchase the $100 "Special Edition" version of the game to get those missions...

I heard about that in the RDR2 thread I was like... that is bullshyt. it's a major reason why the head guy behind the GTA series left too... 
I think the last 2k I played was the one with Kobe on the cover
its one thing to throw micro transactions in for cosmetics - but they don't even use that money to support the actual infrastructure of the game. its all pocketed. the engine is the same, animations from a decade ago are still being used shamelessly, they reduce and reintroduce features every year, they drop major parts of the community support to push this fake e-sports bullshyt that has zero traction, they spend 'development' time on figuring out how many advertisements they can pack into the monotony....

its ONLY sports fans that tolerate this kind of thing. Battlefront? they came for the wig. Destiny? Bungie got on an apology tour like Chris Brown. Ubisoft? literally changed their whole business model in under a year after that mordor shyt.
2k and madden? they got loot boxes for shyt you already fukking had and then they have the audacity to peddle out the same jank bullshyt for 2-3 years at a time because 2k/madden legit don't have competition at all
any other genre in gaming tries this shyt and people would petition until there was an federal investigation
