Losing weight would make her cheekbones and dimples pop more, so she wouldn’t have (felt the) need to touch her face…

Just saying that if she was bullied for her looks when she was younger as she said she was and was getting criticized for it too as she got her career going, it's not surprising that she'd alter her looks. It even makes sense that she'd go further and further as she started getting considered as a "baddie" once she started making changes
