Super Bowl performers have to be able to entertain more than just their core fans. They should be able to have broad appeal. Which he doesn't have.
That…that’s what makes it so great.

He went on the white man’s stage to give a performance that only we would fully understand. Fukk the rest of them that didn’t get it. Having Sam Jackson literally telling him to play the white man’s game to get ahead was the clearest indication that the show wasn’t for anyone but us LOL

Nah not for rappers.. especially one with a new album in rotation
You promote the shyt outta that album
If GNX wasn't out yet I could have seen him playing all his classics
You look funny playing 10 year old songs for your lil segment when u have a new album out
It's just bad business
You don't get paid for the SB performance

Folks who enjoyed GNX enjoyed Kdot's performance

THAT WAS THE POINT.

The message was for US.
i guess so. the pop out was more fun though. i think he should have done this at the pop out and done a shortened pop out like performance at the bowl imo. now you got mixed kids and pawgs doing dissertations on tiktok for their people to understand. is that really the wave? people at the bowl just tryna have a good time. it is what it is though. i enjoyed it.

He’s the artist :yeshrug:

We can debate whether it was the right time/place for the message, but the point is he is one of the few willing to actually do something like this. Certainly the most popular.

It's not one set of rules for rappers and a different set of rules for all other performers when it comes to Super Bowl performance. Any performer selected should have the ability to appeal to a broad group of people. Not just their core base fans. Because it's a broad group of people that are watching the game. Which is partly why rappers in general are limited and shouldn't be Super Bowl performers.

Many black people didn't get the message either. Because people ain't trying to look for some philosophical deep message.

If you are happy that a very small percentage of people actually liked the performance compared to the broad Super Bowl audience because of some message that only a very small percentage of people understood, then you are just happy for the sake of your own feelings. Which is fine, but it does nothing for anyone. In fact, it only helps the majority's cause that changes need to be made at the Super Bowl half time selection process due to witnessing a shyt performance.

I wouldn't be surprised if the NFL said fukk it, got rid of Jay-Z's power to select Super Bowl performers and bushed rappers completely from the Super Bowl after this.

right. he did that shyt... but half the audience was somewhere else. and Beyonce did something similar on Christmas to actual country folks. i aint trying to take away from it but it didn't really ring off like it could have imo. just something cool for us to hang onto until next year.
