working with water and stunts is dangerous

on a weekly grind of a tv set show

probably had someone almost drown or get brain damage

Saw this coming as soon as they cut the episodes from 13 to 10 abruptly. Some shyt went down on that set behind the scenes and they want to wash their hands of it. Damn shame. Also damn shame we may never know what
Word around the block is that they went insanely over budget time after time and that's why the cut the episode count down. Deadline meanwhile is reporting that with a recent change of company structure and new management wanting to launch a new streaming platform, they are planning to throw DC Universe in the bushes. Sounds like a power play from the new leadership is going on to define a new company identity and take all credit for it.

It may be totally financial. From what I've heard, presumably WB was promised $40 million in tax breaks from North Carolina. That shyt was never supposed to be that high. Whoever promised that fukked up. So they only gave back $14 million which had WB like :damn:

Yup. Money is always the culprit. If they were promised that much money and barely got half of it? Lord have mercy. :picard:

Per Bloody Disgusting, the series lost support from executives before it even aired, with those in charge worried about subscribers and reach despite the positive reviews. Bloody Disgusting reports that there were creative differences between several people involved with the show, with some pushing for the series to veer into the horror genre while others believed it would be better crafted a s a weekly procedural. In the end, it appears an agreement couldn’t be made—either that or DC Universe just decided it was better to scrap the whole thing altogether and move on.

And on top of the alleged money issue, they were probably like this isn't what we want anyway. I also think that WB is going to scrap DC Universe. There are way too many streaming services, and there's not enough on there to justify paying monthly or yearly. Doom Patrol and Swamp Thing, should have been on HBO. It would be water cooler talk. Merchandising deals with Funko. Being on DC Universe is a handicap. They're most likely just going to fold it into whatever WB service they have planned.

Didn't get a chance to watch the first episode and now they cancel the series?! :francis: Now they're talking about scrapping DC universe?! Main reason I got it was so I could watch all the DCAU, Young Justice, and DC original animated movies whenever and wherever I wanted. WB is really fukking up.:snoop:

Yes, the newly minted WarnerMedia will launch a new streaming platform, and obviously that means they'll cut any DC Universe projects and if desired relaunch them on that platform.
