I wasn't that high on Fultz. I wasn't that low on him either but I wasn't understanding the media hype. Chase Young is MUCH MUCH better. I watched all of his games. He POPS as all of the ATG's do. Barry, Deion, Derrick Thomas, Moss, Owens, etc. He has that POP. Fultz never had that, he just had exceptional skill. I would be shocked if Young isn't a hall of famer if not the best defensive lineman in NFL history. He is perfect for the modern NFL. His IQ will drive QB's crazy.

We will see. I don't see pop or high level athleticism in him. Myles Garrett is to me the benchmark for the modern day generational pass rusher. Chase Young doesn't come close to Garrett IMO when it comes to first step explosion, bend around edge, or converting speed to power.

Everytime I saw Myles Garrett in college I was mesmerized. Chase Young looked like just another guy.

I thought the INT issue was real but I truly felt he was a smarter football player than he was and it was just immaturity. Maybe it was immaturity but only time will reveal. I completely missed on Mariota but than again, he didn't land in an ideal or decent spot. Maybe his career would be a lot different if he did.

Mariota was a guy who on the surface I should've loved. He had it all. Size, athleticism, and a humble work ethic persona typical of many of the great QBs. But yet I never liked him. I think it was because he lacked charisma.

The best QBs play with a swagger that is noticeable. Especially if they are athletic. The fact Mariota had no swag despite having all the tools is why he was a bust.

First I want to say good job on taking the time out of your day to write. You should change the title to "Swag's 2020 NFL Draft Prospect Rankings - Hot Takes" :mjlol:

Where do I even start,

1. We both agree that Burrow doesn't have the strongest arm. What he does have is everything else--pocket presence, ability to extend plays, mental processing, throwing receivers open, and awareness. Those intangibles are the reason he's going #1 on Thursday night.

2. What am I missing with Dobbins? Everyone seems to like him but I don't see anything special. Moss lacks vision. I agree on the assessments for the RB but not the placement.

3. You gave the WR group a B+ then proceeded to say the class is overrated? I already knew what I walking into as I scrolled down. Which WR class is great then?

Higgins in the top 10? LOL. Then you had the nerves to compare him to Green:mjlol:
The ONLY thing they have in common is hands. He's missing the one trait that makes most top receivers great and it's going to be the reason he's taken on day 2 instead of the top 10 as you project--physicality. His route running isn't top-tier either.

I like both Callaway and Jennings....on Day 3. Bryan Edwards is underrated and I wouldn't be surprised if he's one of the top 5 successful receivers from this class. I like Hamler as well but I don't think he's as fast as his tape would lead folks to believe; I don't know if you have watched Jeff Thomas from Miami but they both have this thing where they're quick but can get caught from behind. Jefferson is probably the best technician in this draft and you have him 9th. Ruggs is overrated imo. He's more of a 2nd rounder.

Now here's where we strongly disagree. Jeudy is probably the most cleanest route-runner since Amari and Lamb's run after the catch ability is one of the best at his size. Those are elite physical traits.

Damn Tennessee had a team good this year.
:aicmon:

Props on putting your opinion on paper tho, there is some football knowledge behind the hot takes.

You can have a few elite players on a college team and still stink. Success in a sport like football with 22 starters per team is DEPTH. Tennessee had a few star players concentrated in a few position groups (like wide receiver) but little to no depth. They were also terrible at QB (the most important position on the field).

That from the state of Tennessee, University of Tennessee bias :heh:

No. I'm not biased. I've just watched those guys more than any other team hence I know their strengths and weaknesses better. Remember in 2017 everybody though Derek Barnett was a great prospect from Tennessee and I said he wasn't. I had him rated as a 2nd-3rd round prospect while everyone else had him just behind Myles Garrett as the second best defensive end prospect in that draft. Three years into his career and Derek Barnett is more like the 2nd-3rd round talent I said he was than being just behind Myles Garrett as a defensive end prospect.

Similarly this season the NFL scouts think Darrell Taylor is Tennessee's best prospect. Daniel Jeremiah just yesterday said he could go in the 2nd round. Conversely, the NFL has Jauan Jennings, Marquez Callaway, and Daniel Bituli rated as Day 3 prospects. I've watched these guys entire college careers and I'm telling yall there is no way Darrell Taylor is a better NFL prospect than Bituli, Jennings, and Callaway. Just like there was no way Barnett was a better prospect than Kamara, Sutton, and Dobbs.

Lol Marquez Callaway's not even gonna be drafted

Maybe not. But remember, Preston Williams (Dolphins) was not drafted last year either and he was arguably Miami's best WR before he blew out his knee. Preston Williams had to transfer out of Tennessee cause he wasn't seeing playing time at wide receiver.

Marquez Callaway has incredible talent. He just didn't have a QB that could get him the ball the last 3 years. If he gets on the right team he could have an Alvin Kamara-esque rise to stardom in the NFL where folks will be wondering why he never made noise in college.
