because their bullshyt ass lawsuit caused the theater to have to drop 700k on lawyerswhy the fukk do the survivors gotta pay for lawyers if they werent on trial... like really this shyt aint making no fukking sense
theres not a single movie theater in the US that can prevent a man walking in with body armor and assault rifles to start shooting it up. this one wasnt any different. but these greedy motherfukkers got some jew ambulance chaser lawyer in their ear talkin about 'lets sue the theater for more, dont take the 150k theyre offering you'

This was definite a tragedy, but I don't feel the theatre was at fault. They simply sued them cuz the corporation is rich when in fact they should have sued the perpetrator of this crime. However they won't cuz he's broke and in jail.

That's why I was saying it was messed up, they have to pay after everything they went through. But I agree, they shouldn't have been greedy and just took what was offered, that theater owe's them nothing. But it still sucks.
That's where this country is headed. All the nuts with guns, big companies and corporations need to take preemptive actions to prevent these type of shootings.
you think this dude wouldnt have just popped the guard at the metal detector to start his rampage? metal detector doesnt prevent this. the only thing that does is a team of armed guards, which no theater in america has.
a shooter can hit literally any public place in america. theaters arent different

A jury agreed it was dumb. So you get this outcome. I agree it's messed up but this is usually how these suits play out.
You lose you pay. Any lawyer would have told them that if they weren't busy exploiting them.
In the hood theaters they had metal detectors at the movies before they all closed down...

I can see folks are taking an emotional stance on this. This was an L from jump. The lawyers who went to bat knew this. Be mad at them if you want to be upset. I bet they still got paid. Misdirected anger is a surefire way to not reach resolutions.

They tried to sue the theatre with a flimsy case, refused to settle for $150k and now ultimately lost the case. Going to trial costs MONEY. And the loser usually pays in order to prevent frivolous lawsuits from clogging up the court system. Why should the cinema pick up the legal tab when they feel like they shouldn't have been sued in the first place

Exactly so if there is the attempt at prevention and that happens then it is not on their handsIf I'm a psycho id just shoot the rent a cops and waltz through the metal detectors.
Unless they have on site swat or police force that isn't going to prevent shyt. Their best bet is s panic button of sorts.
