Why is it messed up?I think it was dumb to sue the theater over what someone else did but for the jury to agree to make the survivors pay the theater's legal fees is messed up. smh
If I'm a psycho id just shoot the rent a cops and waltz through the metal detectors. The theater def could have prevented it
Easily
By installing metal detectors and having people checked as they enter
How the fukk u side with a major corporation

nikka please, if it wasn't about the money, WHY DID THEY INCREASE THE AMOUNT IN THE LAWSUIT??Per the articles, both the plaintiff interviewed and the woman who refused the deal said the purpose of the lawsuit was not money but to enact security measures in theaters, the deal offered by Cinemark did not adequately meet their demands
So it wasn't greed
im saying tho brehi need to get off the internet for the rest of the day
They make no money on ticket sales as far as I know. That is why your chicken tenders and drinks were 13 dollars in the first place."The chain's lawyers at the time told a judge the money is needed to cover the costs of preserving evidence from the theater (pictured), retrieving and copying records, travel and other expenses."
While I agree with the ruling, there's a certain irony in reading about a theater needing money to cover anything in consideration of how much it costs to enjoy the cinematic experience in 2016. Went and saw Don't Breathe on Tuesday. Ticket was like $13, got some chicken tenders and a large drink for like $13. Damn near a $30 experienceIn hindsight I should have looked for a torrent and cooked my own chicken.
fukk these peopleI hate to side with a major company in one of these rulings, but this is what these people get for being greedy. The theater itself isn't the reason Holmes shot the place up and nothing was gonna prevent it unless everybody was psychic.
$150,000 is a lot of money to turn down.
