Don't drop knowledge :aicmon:they just want to blame punk and not give him credit when he gets any success
The thread has nothing to do with Punk and WWE isn't making any opinions or decisions on Punk based on the numbers like they are for Reeves, but wrestlefags seem obsessed with the guy.

They act like wwe is anything but happy with punk . At this point it's him and cena followed by shame and then they trying to build up guys like ryback. Wwe doesn't see any of this as a referendum on punk

Yeah but the main reason they decided not to put the title on Ryback was because they didn't want to jeopardize existing plans with those proven draws, so its kind of a catch 22.

WWE made the mistake of putting Ryback in the main event so quickly... but they lucked out because he got over. Only problem was that he got over at the wrong time...if there is such a thing.

Bottom line, they needed to keep Ryback going strong but also allow for The Rock to come in and face Punk at the Rumble.

The only thing I think they could have done once it was clear that Ryback was over... is switch him over to feud with the SD! champion which at the time was Big Show (and still is). They could have given him the World title and made him look like a beast against Show and kept him away from Punk in the process.

2007 (Batista vs. Undertaker): 341,000 buys
2008 (John Cena vs. Chris Jericho): 319,000 buys
2009 (John Cena vs. Triple H and Shawn Michaels): 235,000 buys
2010 (Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett): 244,000 buys
2011 (The Rock and John Cena vs. R-Truth and The Miz): 281,000 buys
2012 (CM Punk vs. Ryback vs. John Cena): 212,000 buys

So according to the dirtsheets, after the pleasant surprise of HiaC, Vince and Co were looking to the next PPV to see if Ryback was the next big draw. Doesn't appear to be the case. So where do they go from here?

Of course all of this has more to do with outside circumstances and the WWE/pro wrestling as a whole being in downward slope but lets continue to ignore that for now

Yes, let's. :jawalrus:

You guys thought Ryback was a draw or something because some report added on the fact that HIAC buyrate was up :pachaha:

And Cena's been heavily involved in these shows for years. The one with Orton and Barrett he was the special guest ref.

I wouldn't be surprised if adding him kept this from dipping below 200K :yeshrug:

Time for them to start winding down the Cena gravy train.

See the thing is? Ryback drew when he was undefeated and was kept strong. Giving the Shield and CM Punk protection has not done anything but deliver strong matches. Money isn't getting made. Ryback was the chance to change that. It was either go with Ryback and what was hot or keep doing the same thing with Punk and that's why buys went down and they couldn't even sell out the arena with that abysmal 8,500 fans showing up for the fukking event:laugh:

Cena has been a detriment to drawing buyrates for quite some time. Even in 2008 at Survivor Series, he won the title to that pathetic reaction. And that's why they have went with Undertaker streak matches as the draw to WM over Cena since WM 24. Cena was pushed in the background and hasn't been the true main event of Mania since like WM 22 in 2006. The Rock came back and he was all of a sudden allowed back in the top match of Mania again but why was that? Because people was gonna pay to see the Rock have a big match return and they thought Cena was their biggest name to do that.

Cena's the only one drawing anything in that company besides those 3 other people they bring in and Mayweather who's one of the biggest draws in history. When they put him in well booked angles they usually draw but when it's the usual corny booking they've been running with since 2004 nothing really draws except Mania Season.

Undertaker is the biggest name they got who works under their contract. Cena is someone who sells merchandise year around and sometimes he delivers in highly rated segments. That's changed since the Lesnar stuff ended though. And it's definitely a different world for him since the 3 hour format. He hasn't meant a fukking thing on PPV in years. Hasn't carried anything. Taker was the centerpiece until the Rock started putting them over one million buys again. Nexus was drawing but Cena and the WWE buried them nice and deep. Nexus was hotter than anything CM Punk and his Pipe Bomb character has ever done but they dismantled and fukked them over by the end of 2010 like it was nothing. When they chanted for Nexus to come back during that Barrett match a couple of months ago, Cole made some mockery comment like "Crowd chanting We Want Nexus? That's like so 2 years ago" as if that should count yet when the crowd chants "Cena SUCKS" and "U can't Wrestle" that show their pure disdain from a paying public, it's the FANs that are in the wrong and they are the ones that need to change and accept it. It was much of the same shyt from the maineventers in the back during that Rock/Cena special deal where they blamed fans for not accepting Cena and pretty much went heel on them because they didn't want to get behind him. Never seen anything like it and probably won't ever see anything like it again.

Everything about Cena is so fukking absurd at this point that it's impossible not to look at that cat and not just shake your head, laugh, and turn on it on football until his segment is over.
