He had a bad night Vs Alexander.

Paul Williams against Carlos Quintana in the 1st fight is a bad night.

Floyd vs Sosa is a bad night

Roy vs Harding is a bad night.

Chino got dropped and outboxed for like 80% of the Alexander fight. That's not having a bad night. That's someone being clearly better than you breh.

Will yall give GGG credit if he wins?
Is there really a large movement in The Ring that doesn't/hasn't given Golovkin credit for being a good fighter?
Because all I have really seen is people who refuse to buy into the boxing writer overhype that Golovkin is a mega star.
Nobody shyts on dude's talents or anything.

I don't say that he is trash but I say in better divisions he would be only 7-10 or so not #2 like he is in MW now.
I think there was even a point in te past few year when ww was so strong that maybe he couldn't be be a top 10 there.

Its hard to compare weight classes to each other to be real. Personally I think WW is overrated and MW is underated. I think the presence of Floyd and Manny at WW gave WW that great weight class label just because they was truly ATG fighting at that weight. Look at WW now for instance, Keith Runtime Thurman the top dog and he good but he aint shyt special in the grand schemes of things. If Jacobs was a welter I would give him a waaaay better chance against Thurman than GGG. And at 154 I would pick him to win against Charlo and Hurd, 2 154 champs. It's all hypothetical but you get what im trying to say.

Dan Rafael chat wrap 3/17:

GGG vs. Jacobs:
- Jacobs won't miss the IBF 10 lb rehydration (like Lemieux) because he wants the IBF title and he is an honorable athlete.
- Picking GGG by KO in 5-6 rounds.
- Andy Lee's fight won't be on the PPV, but will be part of the free stream on ESPN3.com and Youtube.
- Look at how GGG fought Lemieux to see how he fights when he respects someone's power. Brook would be a poor comparison.
- GGG vs. Canelo is a bigger PPV than Canelo vs. JCC.
- HBO has said that if/when GGG has his summer fight in Kazahkstan, HBO will send their full team there.
- Which MW would be the hardest fight for GGG? Hagler.
- Chocolatito's opponent has a weak resume, but is a real opponent.
- To him, the winner is the true champion at 160.
- The fight is very close to being a sell out. By tomorrow night it should be a sell out or just a few tickets left.
- GGG looked in tremendous shape. No signs of struggling to make weight. He was in a very good mood.
- Spoke with Macklin this week and said the body shot he took from GGG was the best punch he ever has been hit with.
- Does not think GGG should move to 168 as there still is business (BJS, Canelo) and history (Hopkins' 20 title defenses) at 160.
- Chocolatito is making his case to be considered the best at the lower weight classes. Others would be: Ricardo Lopez, Jimmy Wilde, Mark Johnson, Carbajal, and Chiquita.
- Better resume: Jacobs or Lemieux? Jacobs. Quillin is better than anyone Lemieux has ever beaten.
- Believes that BJS would be a very easy fight for GGG.
- How surprised would he be if Jacobs won? 7/10.
- Arum said he was once offered to promote GGG and declined.
- Charlie Fitch will be the referee.
Wow, there is almost nothing Jacobs-centric about anything Fat Dan talked about. He truly does have a deep and abiding mancrush on Golovkin.

- Predicting around 180k PPV buys. Thinks it does more than the 150k the Lemieux fight did and they should be ecstatic if this fight reaches 200k buys.

Right, he had a bad night. Why couldn't chino have a bad night?

because a bad night usually means while not operating at 100% you are still competitive against difficult styles. In winning, you don't dominate and in losing you don't get dominated.

You can't get dominated and then say you were having a bad night. Now if you lost and won like 5 rounds, you could prolly say that and be believable.

That's all I'm saying breh. Chino was a good fighter, but for some reason he didn't match up well with Alexander at all and it showed big time.

Well that's your opinion.

In the 154 ones idk... We don't know much about Hurd yet. Jermell Charlo... never really impressed me. He is still a quite god boxer though.
I'd pick Canelo, Lara and Andrade over Jacobs though...

MW is underrated?
Look at the division 2013-2015 when Golovkin raise to the top there. Who was there besides Jacobs and GGG? Murray? Geale? Quillin? Lee? Macklin? Stevens? Lemieux? I don't think that's underrated, I think it was just rightfully one of the worst divisions in boxing.

Rafael is a good source of news but whenever it comes to Golovkin he turns into an emotional stan...

He blocked me cause I specifically said when GGG knocked out Dominic Wade :mjlol: he called it in his article a "dominating performance" but when Ward wiped out that buster he faced before Kovalev ( can't remember at all dude name) he called it an overmatched opponent. He blocked me right after.

Jacobs would be a Top 10 MW in ANY year dating back the last 25:manny:
Agree 100%. Jacobs is easily a top 10 fighter. Hell comparing him to other divisions, I would say Jacobs would deserve to be top 5 any division currently. Dude is an incredibly talented fighter. He has limitations just like 99% of fighters.

The hate on GGG's skills is definitely less than the hate he receives from Abel, media/HBO promotions...but I definitely think there is a bias towards is skills in people not giving credit for much beyond being aggressive and hitting hard.

Not entirely surprised. Seems like Jacobs knew that he needed his size as an advantage. He is a huge MW. Also felt like GGG probably knew this was coming.

Hopefully GGG csn harness it as extra motivation.

In other thoughts...looking at the weigh in photos, GGG has looked a bit drained his last couple of fights and had very pale skin vs. Brook. Wonder if it was because he admitted those fights weren't as motivating. He looked great at the weigh in and not drained at all. Jacobs didn't look bad, but definitely the more drained of the two...which was a good inclination he was going to really put on weight.
