I think the telling point is GGG lacks adjustments. His saving grace is he cuts off the ring beautifully and has a great chin. It's clear as day why he always talked a good game about moving up but never did. He would have gotten toyed with by someone like even Kessler.
this i agree..GGG never really had to do that and it caught up to him in this fight...i hope this is something that is addressed going forward because he was headhunting too much for my liking..neglecting going to the body...it was too 1 D

I had it close like HBO did but I had GGG winning

That 115 to 112 margin was too wide. It was more like 114 to 113 for GGG.

The knock down in the fourth had Triple G ahead for me.

Triple G landed more power punches. You could look at GGG face compared to Jacobs to see who landed more punches and more effective punches.

Good strategy by Jacobs u gotta be a fool to trade shots with that nikka.

Anyone else see the punch stats? I forget what they were but GGG landed I think around 75 more punches? :what:

Thats fukkin ridiculous, that whole HBO team and compubox needs a toothpick to get Golovkins jock from their teeth

:camby:
the one they showed after the fight showed more fr DJ but I never read much into these stats... They are counted by people just like us. Accepting them is pretty much accepting an opinion as superior to yours

They both neglected the body. I like that Danny came in with a nice plan specifically for GGG but at the end of the day l think both guys were still too conservative and worried about the other

The punch stats seemed like a fair indication of what was going on in the ring. GGG landed a shytload of jabs in the fight. It's why Damny's face was swelling up like that. They had Danny landing more power punches.

Its become painfully obvious to me HBO commentary is an enormous problem for boxing...

Fans rather listen to these company fighter stanning morons (aside for Roy) than actually use their own eyes to score the fight...

That's the only reason I can think of for why anybody would think this was a close fight...

Personally I am officially done with HBO boxing till Lampley either retires or is canned...

HBO PPVs will be watched on boxnation from now on...

i actually thought danny went to it more than GGG...he diversified his offense but he had significant stretches where he was just throwing 1 punch at a time..and you also cant do that with GGG

I enjoyed that fight. I think I'm going to try and watch some more boxing. My only problem coming from the wrestling world is that MMA/Boxing isn't always exciting.
