I'm not saying natural health practices are all bad, but at some point you're just going to have to grow up and realize that supplements and herb shyt is money making too. Billions of dollars. You think this ish is some sort of secret? Millions and millions of people spend money on homeopathic bullshyt that isnt even regulated right. Blame dudes like orrin hatch, I guess.

you know what my response would be too anyone seeking a natural health regime....

Become a vegetarian and stay active...

The benefits are amazing. Vegetarians on average tend to be more educated, fit, significantantly lower cases of: high blood pressure, colon cancer, and various other chronic diseases.

You just told me supplements was big business.... I just showed you evidence that pharmaceuticals is an $85 billion/year industry, and harms people as well (I'm pretty sure vitamins/supplements aren't anywhere close to that in annual sales) ...........even the commercials when they are reading at Usain Bolt speed tell you the problems that can occur from the "mainstream" pharmaceuticals....I'm not saying its all bad, but to demonize vitamins/supplements but ignore the neon pink elephant in the room is pretty bold .... :beli: ....
:russ: sorry, I don't share your worldview of pharmaceuticals being useless and supplements being a panacea.

The flexitarian regime has been surprisingly easy to adopt breh. I don't find myself craving meat in particular really, more that 'fullness' that you can get from animal fat. Pretty easy to get with mushrooms, eggs, and butter :patrice:

Thanks for putting me on btw, never gave you proper dap for convincing me.

:dwillhuh: I'm trying remember which one that was. My diet changes like every 3-4 months, and so does my perception on food. I know I'm not heavily dependent on animal protein though.

Maybe if you used some valid sources like the rest of us. Just 30 seconds in I had to look up the credentials of the NANP. Why? I've never heard of them, and a simple good search has shyt linked to sites like "naturalnews".

watched 10 minutes of it. Pure garbage. Don't know how any rational person, can't see through the irrational nature of that video. It's pure quackery. For gawd's sake name of title is "Nutricide", it's suppose to give off the illusion of being forbidden information. Any real professional academia piece would more effort into creating a less bias title name...

Maybe a Dr., but she's no "Dietician" and she's on the board of members of some "Natural Solutions" "Corporation" of course she's going to say how high when the money starts rolling in.

This doesn't surprise me. Not only are people taking a gamble at getting the actual supplement advertised, many of these supplements have negligible research supporting any claims of their effectiveness. The only one that is my go to is fish oil. You can miss me with all that acai berry, Valerian root, etc.

:merchant: The part of the article that really pissed me off was the supplement that replaces the advertised ingredient with black walnut w.out labeling it. They just outchea killin people w. severe allergies with zero fux given. :demonic: Be in favor of deregulation brehs.

I'd be skeptical of the fish oil too breh. I still use some from time to time, because I feel a temporary cognitive boost. Heck I popped one a few minutes ago.

But here's what one of my books had to say:

Fish, not fish oil supplements, is the preferred source of omega-3 fatty acids. High intakes of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids may increase bleeding time, interfere with wound healing, raise LDL cholesterol, and suppress immune function. Evidence is mixed for people with heart disease—several studies show hopeful results, whereas others reveal no benefits from supplements. Supplements bring risks, such as excessive bleeding; individuals taking daily fish oil supplements need medical supervision. The benefits and risks from EPA and DHA illustrate an important concept in nutrition: too much of a nutrient is often as harmful as too little.

Not to mention an article regarding fish oil dropped a couple months ago:

Moral of the story, use in moderation....
