They're obviously corrupt, but it's not fair to blame everybody for that.
They are members of the Democratic Party. People in Arizona and West Virginia who were told to just vote Democrat were given these two as the Democratic choices. Democratic leadership isn't attempting to purge them from the party or even censure them or strip them of committee assignments. They are well received by Democratic leadership. They are Democrats. Their actions are vetted and approved by the Democratic Party.

We know for a fact that their obstruction of reproductive justice doesn't truly rankle Democratic leadership because Democratic leadership just went down to Texas to stump for an explicitly anti-choice Democratic incumbent in the heat of a very competitive primary.

They don't give a shyt. It is what it is.

Like I said in TLR. I think the midterm went from the Democrats getting their asses handed to them, to now at least 50/50.
I'm not so sure about that. Anyone who cares about abortion was already sorted into their political faction. The indy/mods who remain probably aren't motivated by this ruling. They're probably thinking "this is horrible and I'm against it, but Biden/Dems are mismanaging the economy so gotta vote GOP."

Perhaps, and hopefully, I'm wrong, but I never really saw this as something that would mobilize people for the midterms.

@Tetris v2.0 I love ya'll coli bretheren. I really do. Lotta great friends on here over the years.

I can't even lie though. When The Coli was broken and on the brink of collapsing, the idea of not being able to shoot the shyt with you guys was sad...and yet at the same time, I feel some slight relief. Like, my mental health was definitely a bit improved from not looking at politics and news on here every day.

It's just an observation. I might take a break. I got a lot a lot going on right now without even paying attention to the cluster fukk of the state of the world.
I had to change my mind set and stop looking at too much political stuff too. It’s fukked up and nihilistic but I’ve just stopped caring as much. I’m in a solid red state and there’s not much I can do, so fukk it. I’ve donated to some progressives but it made no difference. I just don’t care anymore. Just trying to enjoy life for what it is.

If this is to be believed, her time in congress won't be long.

Hopefully so...

Ppl like her, Sinema, & Majoree Taylor-Greene I believe will all have short runs in Congress. Taylor-Greene is one wrong move from doing or saying something that will put her seat in jeopardy.

This issue could have been resolved when the Democratic Party had a Super Majority. They chose to not codify the law, instead choosing to use abortion as a wedge issue to get women to vote for them. Presidents Carter, Clinton, and Obama all had super majorities for a period in the House and Senate during their Presidencies, but chose to ignore the issue.

I gave my reason why they did not do what needed to be done, but really the disappointed Democratic Party members (rank and file voters) really need to directly ask them why they never did it. We already knew what the Republican goals on this issue were for over 50 years. So we need to find out what the Democratic goal actually was, because by their demonstrated actions in the past it was definitely not to resolve the Right to Abortion Law.

BTW, I am an Independent. I have been one for 30 years.

Taylor-Greene is in a deep red House district, so she is safe. Flores is probably cooked, and Sinema is in a purple state and has no allies. She will probably have to survive a primary from someone like Ruben Gallego and then beat a Republican in the GE. I feel like she is also on borrowed time.

Taylor-Greene has her seat for as long as she wants it though.

yeah i dont think this does much for the midterms at all. also, the disgusting laws republicans pass will be in 23

but trump is the most hated man in the country, and if the dems can make him the face of abortion, that's where the opportunity is politically

"donald trump; the man who made abortion illegal in america" :dead:

I once heard someone mentioned that really dems and republicans agree more than they disagree, and that when you need crime bills you put a republican in office but when u need a social program like Obama care you put a dem in office
I wonder if that’s one of these moments where republicans take the hit for abortions but really behind the scenes this is a agenda that dems and republicans agree with because they have to do something about the birth rates in the country they can’t keep bringing immigrants to replace white Americans
