Supreme Court has nearly killed the Voting Rights Act of 1965

Will Senate Dems bypass the filibuster to fix this?

Is this one of those situations where Trump's presidency has set certain things back by decades and without a country defining flashpoint, minorities in the USA are at a disadvantage when it comes to voting?

If that's the case, would it not be more feasible to work on an infrastructure to beat the conservatives at their own game( make sure black people get the right IDs, and the can be taken to other polling stations when the cacs shut down ones close to them) than spending money trying to change the outcome?

Just wondering.
That requires outside the box thinking that very few Dems in congressional leadership have

That's worryingly. Stacey Abrams gave them the blueprint in Georgia. Just build on that, cause despite what they did, they couldn't prove voter fraud, they were out worked at their own game.

Yes it's racist and everyone knows who these decisions are geared towards, but you have to do something.

The fact that Biden, the DOJ and the Democratic party aren't doing everything to hold Trump and Co accountable while doing everything in their power to protect voting rights says it all. Their inaction is just as bad as Republicans actions. There's going to be blood in the streets when this all said and done. Democrats don't care if the wolf is in the chicken coop. Until that wolf comes for them. Then it's too late. America needed people that were going to fight for democracy. Instead, it got people who's meekness will lead to it's destruction

That's just not true. Some things are beyond the control of the EXECUTIVE branch at this stage regarding the voting rights.

The thing I don't like is the DOJ not pursuing charges against Trump for obstruction and other shyt with that Russian investigation. Merrick Garland is gonna have to decide if he loves the rule of law more than looking "fair"

I swore there was a law and lawsuit that tried to prevent that very thing. I don't know remember what happened with that though.
