Well known and popularity are different tho even tho id argue Batman might be has well known has Superman now to the recent merchandise/ movie explosion and the enhanced connectivity of the world. If this was 1960 id say superman without a doubt

Define popularity tho.

Superman is more well known (not by much).

But Batman sales waaaaay more merch. It's not even close. I work with this stuff all day so I know.

Taylor Swift probly sold more records than The Beatles last year too...

Milk, cartoons and bouncing balls are all well known terms and things humans are introduced to at a very young age and most people like them. It doesn't mean people like them forever, that's where Superman is. He is like the super hero you're introduced to and like when you're 3 and 4 years old. After that most people move on. lol

Batman has sold more toys, merchandise, t-shirts, etc in the past 20 years than Superman. His movies do better and his animated related content also sells more. This aint no overnight trend. :rudy:

There really needs to be some definition here: Are we talking all time or 2015?
I don't think it would matter honestly. Superman is up there with Super Mario and Mickey Mouse globally

Actually lemme rephrase:

Batman is more popular but Superman is more known. Superman's time has passed.

Superman is clearly the most popular. Its like a greek mythology story of Zues and Hercules. Or Egyptian mythology of Osiris and Horus. Or even God and Jesus. You'll see more people wearing Superman T shirts than Batman. This doesn't take anything away from Batman, but its just what it is. In hiphop its like Nas and JayZ. Nas would be Batman and JayZ would be superman. The darknight is underground and Supes is pop. I can almost guarantee you that most kids recognize a Mickey Mouse logo before a Bugs Bunny logo. But we all know which cartoon we'd rather watch.

I was about to say this. It's the difference between Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair. When you are a child or a casual fan, you like Hulk Hogan. When you grow up or are a big wresting fan, it's Ric Flair all day.
