SUPERMAN by James Gunn (Coming 2025)

I kept an open mind when Bryan Singer directed Superman Returns. I kept an open mind when Zack Snyder directed Man of Steel. Once again, I am asked to keep an open mind as James Gunn assumes control of the character and starts once more with Superman Legacy.

I'll keep the faith and hope.

I didn't say that I liked it, and yes, it was the most boring film that I saw in 2006. Brett Ratner directed a better comic book film than Bryan Singer that year.

They tried the retro 50s color scheme in that film and in the modern age, it makes it pretty much unwatchable now. Add to the fact they added in the Lex Luthor plot..once again, just fumbled the whole bag...

Routh was a great Supes but they could have absolutely done more with him.

MoS and JL at least integrated the Kryptonian lore, hope that doesn't get lost in the new DCU..

If anything i think they’ll lean semi-heavily into the Kryptonain heritage and lore. The logline states that Clark is attempting to rectify the nobility of his Krypton heritage with the humanity and humbleness of his smallville up bringing.

I still think the portrayal of Clark/Superman was better and it had a better Lex… although the actor was a monster
