Right. People defended Krypto being so prominently placed by saying "It's a part of the Superman mythos!"
But we all knew a writer has damn near 100 years of other Superman material to pick from. And Gunn picked this particular stuff because he has no other setting except "animals, weird creatures, big ensembles and over-the-top silliness."
I'd love to be proven wrong tho. In the end, I want to see a good movie.
Gunn is going to do the same thing in every movie, just like a Nolan movie is coming with a twist...
The problem isn't that I think it's automatically going to be bad. The problem is, everyone and their mom was scared of him giving THIS movie and Universe, the Gunn treatment. It was such a loud scare, that he himself had to come out and make official statements, that this wasn't going to be campy fun like his other shyt
And the movie gets previewed and it's him doing the same ass shyt. Which is cool if that's how it was pitched. But we all know he ran away from that. So to find out all that was bullshyt and he doing the same shyt, really just lowers my expectations based on the lies
Because if you felt this campy Gunn shyt was gonna be crack, you'd have been preaching it the whole time
