Of the nine actors only two had a tragic end (three if you include Kirk Alyn who had Alzheimer's). DUI and being a shytty person really isn't much of anythingThere is sort of a "Superman curse" for many actors who have played Superman/Clark Kent in live action. Either something bad/tragic has happened to them or they're a POS person (like Dean Cain).
Only a few don't seem to be in that boat (like Brandon Routh & Henry Cavill). Let's hope that nothing happens with David Corenswet.
I liked She-Hulk, Hawkeye, and Moon KnightTo be fair I don't know ANYONE who was fukkin with secret invasion by the third or so episode, we knew that shyt was a disaster and the last episode thread was fukkin hilarious, we were in disbelief as how bad that episode possibly could be...it was fukking abominable.
Now people WERE carrying moon knight and Hawkeye's bags, as well as talking about how much fun Marvels was lmao. Nobody has ever revisited those shows or movie, not once.
Kirk Alyn, Lee Quigley, George Reeves, and Christopher Reeve all had sad or very tragic stuff happen to them.Of the nine actors only two had a tragic end (three if you include Kirk Alyn who had Alzheimer's). DUI and being a shytty person really isn't much of anything
I still think it is a stretch like the Madden cover curse and every other curseKirk Alyn, Lee Quigley, George Reeves, and Christopher Reeve all had sad or very tragic stuff happen to them.
Also, many other actors and creators connected to Superman properties have had sad or tragic things happen to them (like Margot Kidder, the Fleischer Brothers, the creators of Superman: Siegel & Schuster, etc).
Anyway, DUI and being a terrible person may not be "much of anything" (to you at least), but it can still be a form of the "Superman curse".
My condolences to your taste.I liked She-Hulk, Hawkeye, and Moon Knight![]()

Yeah, the same thing happened before in 2013 with Man of Steel.Didn’t the families also do something similar before MOS. Seems like they want a bag, WB will throw money their way and all will be well.
This time it's different and DC might be fukked up... Problem is, everything was good for THE USA.. British law (and those under them at some point) says that 25 years after death, the OG owner's estate GETS ALL HIS RIGHTS BACK... Well, it's now been 25 years.... So DC is fine to do a release in every country EXCEPT the UK and those who adopted that rule as well.Yeah, the same thing happened before in 2013 with Man of Steel.
It sucks what happened to Siegel and Schuster, but they did sell away the rights of Superman to DC, and both men have long been dead. The Siegel family doesn't have any issues with DC. It's usually the Schuster estate/family that does this. However, it gets dismissed in court all of the time (usually with a settlement).
Yeah, I read that in the Deadline article. WB/DC will just give the Shuster estate (who is apparently his nephew) some money, and the lawsuit will go away. This time it's different and DC might be fukked up... There's no loophole this time:
At issue are foreign copyrights to the original Superman character and story, coauthored by Jerome Siegel and Shuster. Though Siegel and Shuster assigned worldwide Superman rights to DC’s predecessor in 1938 “for a mere $130 ($65 each), the copyright laws of countries with the British legal tradition—including Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Australia—contain provisions automatically terminating such assignments 25 years after an author’s death, vesting in the Shuster Estate the co-author’s undivided copyright interest in such countries,” the suit said.
“Shuster died in 1992 and Siegel in 1996. By operation of law, Shuster’s foreign copyrights automatically reverted to his estate in 2017 in most of these territories (and in 2021 in Canada). Yet Defendants continue to exploit Superman across these jurisdictions without the Shuster Estate’s authorization—including in motion pictures, television series, and merchandise—in direct contravention of these countries’ copyright laws, which require the consent of all joint copyright owners to do so.”
I see what you mean... But what do you mean LET? The nephew has ALL the powerYeah, I read that in the Deadline article. WB/DC will just give the Shuster estate (who is apparently his nephew) some money, and the lawsuit will go away.
There's no way that WB/DC is letting this film not be released in Canada, the UK, Ireland, and Australia. Also, since the Siegel family has no issues with WB/DC anymore, Shuster's nephew (Warren Peary) really just seems like he's doing this for money and nothing else.
