That wasn't Gunn's project though. Neither is Matt Reeves.

Todd Phillips was given 100% creative control over 'Joker 2' and why wouldn't he? The first movie had a modest budget of $70M and it went on to make over $1 Billion at the box office and it nabbed Academy Awards etc...

Todd Phillips quite obviously got up his own ass like people in Hollywood get and thought he could be the smartest man in the room again with a "musical" approach to the sequel and apparently it was trash, I haven't seen it and have no desire to.

Matt Reeves also appears to have full creative control over his Batman universe.

Once Reeves is finished with everything 'Batman' it only leaves Gunn's universe moving forward though he has said he's open to more 'Elseworlds' projects

Matt Reeves' Batman is gonna make it hard for the DCU version to stand up. I feel it's gonna confuse alot of people on why this great take is not in this new universe. Especially since I feel the sequel could be in the running for GOAT superhero flick. Not to mention whenever the 3rd film comes out.

Joker 2 should have never been made but they had the blueprint of the first movie paying homage to Taxi Driver and Kings of Comedy. If they were gonna add Harley it should have started as a Silence of the Lambs homage with Quinzel starting as his therapist and becoming infatuated with him at the Asylum. Once they break out it turns into Bonnie and Clyde or something. Instead it was a YouTube film level deconstruction of the first film with high school stage play level musicals thrown in. What a travesty.

Why you say that? Matt Reeves Batman was mid at best. Not even better than Nolans Dark Knight or Burtons first 2 movies.

I think Gunn will be aight.

This aint true.

Because THIS CHARACTER

the-boys-homelander-1014x570.jpg

Is one of the greatest comic book character's we've ever seen adapted to live action.

Superman not having a secret identity doesn't mean he wouldn't interact with people or have relationships with other characters. EVERYONE in universe in the MCU knew Tony Stark was Iron Man and all that still happened.

Then we also have to do the bs and pretend no character in universe especially Lex can tell Clark is Superman despite the world now being in a 4k a.i driven era?

Breh.

That was a five second scene at the end of the movie and more of an easter egg/comic reference.

For the entire movie everyone knew Clark was Superman. Lois, the military, the people he grew up with which is why that scene didn't fit in with the rest of the move.

^
:mjlol: Are you seriously using Homelander as an example of why Superman doesn’t need Clark Kent? Homelander is literally the embodiment of why someone with that kind of power needs to stay grounded and connected to humanity. Also Tony Stark’s loved ones are either dead or “in the business” and either of assisting with weapon and warfare or superheroes. So the risk level is completely different than for Lois or for Martha.

I guess we all have opinions so nothing against you. But that film has super high scores in critic and audience ratings and was nominated for a lot of awards that year. I just feel the sequel is gonna be one of them ones which may conflict with the Bat Family take in the DCU.

I don't believe so because there are different variations of Batman. Reeves version is the more gritty, grounded... for mature audiences version with all the serial killers and shyt running around.

Gunn's version is going to have the Robins and Damien in it... I expect that to be more fantastical and include the part of the Rogues Gallery that is more out there like Mr. Freeze or whoever.

We'll see I guess. Reeves' potential trilogy probably won't be finished until 2030 then the DCU version is probably slated for for 2027-2029? It's a conflict I've never seen before. Even the Amazing Spider-Man film came a little bit after the 3rd Rami trilogy.

Spider-Man had animated features and an MCU version and then brought back the Sony guys all at once... I don't think general audiences are dumb enough to be confused or care

Animated features don't really count especially since it's Miles and No Way Home was multiverse fukkery that was a surprise for people who weren't following the film leading up to it.

Sony themselves hasn't made a regular Spider-Man movie since the MCU ones even tho they have the rights too. Even Gunn himself has said he's mulled over adding Pattison's Batman to the DCU or just making Pattison Batman. I don't think he should and I'm looking forward to a more whimsical Batman. It's not really a huge deal but having 2 big budget main line Batman flicks at the same time can cannibalize fan interest, especially for the casual film goer.

With them fast tracking clayface and delaying the batman 2 I'm really wondering if we see a cross over.
