It also hinges on the movie being good tho, word of mouth is important but if ppl say omg this movie was ass are you really gonna see it?

Depends on the flick and depends on the people. Generally though, I couldn't give 2 fukks what other people think. If I want to see something then I'm going to see it and I'll formulate my own opinion. Opinions are like a$$holes...you know the rest

That's why really if you're gonna try and peg box office predictions you gotta give 3 estimates. One which is just a general prediction, and then a low and a high. One in case the movie turns out to be a steaming pile of shyt and one in case the movie is a smash hit.

A movie like GOTG is gonna live and die on its quality.

thats why reviews are a joke most of the time because the person giving the review is just giving his/her opinion which could be 100% different then yours or mine.

And it's crazy how so many people on the internet don't get that. Like at all. It's almost as if once we start commenting on message boards and become a part of a "community" we go with group think and I hate group think with a passion and that is all the internet is. Looking at comments on sites or other message boards, everyone falls into this common consensus bullshyt that I abhor. So many cats on this site hate Iron Man 3, but I don't at all. But just because so many other people do shouldn't change my opinion of it. Reviewers have their own biases and agendas etc when they view a film and it's almost impossible to be completely objective about something that is a very personal experience

They're saying that this is currently tracking for a $95-$100M weekend domestically:flabbynsick::AustinWhat:, That's Captain America numbers, a Spider-Man film opening to Captain America numbers. Bad word of mouth could kill this movie :whew:, especially with Godzilla and X-MEN coming out in 2 and 3 weeks. Sony Execs currently :lupe: and hoping them opening weekend numbers are significantly higher, as their struggleverse depends on it.
