It's about older black voters down south. Black people up north have no issue with Sanders. This is about pandering and relationships. And familiarity.

But the south is where the delegates are. This is how Obama stomped Hillary. It's how Hillary stomped Bernie. You need to win those voters. Bernie was always going to be at a disadvantage because Biden has a connection with black people (Obama's VP), but he could have done far more to reach out to them.

I always quote this, but it's worth doing so again. In 2008 when asked why he campaigned in rural white republican districts where he knew he'd lose, Obama said he did it because just showing your face and talking to people there would result in a 15 point loss instead of a 30 point loss. That cold blooded focus on margins is what you need to win. Hillary ignored those places in 2016 and racked up a lot of 30-40 point losses. Biden isn't going to make that mistake. Bernie is making it right now by not even trying to reach out these voters. It might be too late.

biden doesn't lie to his base by promising ridiculous laws that wouldn't even pass his own party

you're aware that you're electing bernie president and not Supreme Leader, right? :mjlol:

and can you explain how bernie would beat trump in a general that includes republicans, if he cant beat biden in a primary with only democrats?
Well Biden said nothing change so there's that.

Pos Rep. I agree with this. Biden can connect with these dudes in chicago and metro detroit who went from obama to trump. I'm just worried he'll not do much of anything for his 4 years.

Well assuming no backstabbing from Liberal media and/or establishment Dems would give him a winning chance. The media was successful on Super Tuesday because it was Liberal media viciously attacking a Liberal candidate.

Some people were sitting at home watching the meltdown after Nevada thinking, well if Chris Matthews is this alarmed, maybe Bernie is too big of a risk and it's better to go with Joe.

That same voter wouldn't be moved by Sean Hannity or Fox News.

What we saw from the day results were announced in Nevada to Super Tuesday has to be one of the most effective dissemination of political propaganda that I have ever seen in my life. The shyt was relentless and fast and overwhelming.

Authoritarian regimes would be proud.
you should consider that america is not a radical left country, and is not ready for bernie's revolution

i mean im sorry, but im still waiting for someone to explain how bernie beats trump in a general when he can't beat joe biden in a field that only includes democrats. if bernie was going to beat trump in november, with his "excited base", he should be DESTROYING biden in the primary. but he's not even winning outright :yeshrug:

Us as a country. It's been going on for a long time and both parties suffer from it.

Oregon has one of the highest youth turnout rates in the country as they have adopted mail in ballots. You dont even have to leave the house to vote and guess what, the 18-24 age demo is still the smallest voting demographic there.

Obama won on hope and change, bernie shouldn't have ran as an "anti establishment " candidate instead focused on what change he can bring for the future of the party :manny:. Bernie has great ideas but the way he leads his cult like surrogates and supporters is extremely pisspoor
Like I've said, I'm not talking about Bernie at this point. Theres no need for fake candidates that chew someone else's vote and then drop out and tell everyone who backed them who to vote for. Simple popular vote for primaries and general election will make it much easier for someone outside party identification to get through.

You win the general by being competitive in all districts in the states that count the most towards the electoral college. Running up the score is safe places aint gonna do shyt since the popular vote doesn't matter. I don't get why people can't seem to figure this out.

Bernie Sanders Announces Rallies in Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Spartanburg and Columbia, South Carolina on February 26-28, 2020 ****Updated

Mind you this was way more than what Biden did. The south being the south =/= ignoring, lack of outreach.

Its not deep.

biden might get some laws passed that push gradual change in the right direction. he'll also replace ginsberg with a left wing judge. that's enough from 2020-2024

i mean again, if bernie was going to actually get all this shyt passed and accomplished...how are you getting that from the fact that he can't even win the democratic primary?

If Bernie somehow miraculously wins this primary he would most definitely be spending a lot of time down south for the Afram vote. The past two democratic primaries would indicate who he really has to appeal to.

Correct. Youth voter turnout is a problem everywhere in this country. it needs to be addressed further.

:manny: but I think 2016 is going to make American voters very risk-averse about nominating a woman for a while

We will have a woman president when American women decide a woman can be a leader. Hillary lost in large part due to white women.

Says everything about this country. Pakistan and Turkey have had female leaders for god's sake.
