Gonna be a little late to the party but don't worry. I got hands for all y'all in due time.
What kind of controller are my victims here using? I haven’t played Smash religiously since Melee so I’m considering grabbing a GC controller. But I dunno. I’d probably use the pro for most games.

but to answer you question. I'mma try and learn the handheld first because I haven't used a standard controller for smash since melee. I was mad comfortable with Wiimote and nunchuck for years. I might even give the joycons detached to see if the feeling the same but I'm sure it won't be. Gonna be weird using the pro controller.
I still have the GC adapter I bought for the Wii U. I don't have a GC controller but I THINK my bro has one as there's a GC in his room. If not the Pro controller should be fine.
I'm going straight into classic mode highest level and jump right into the fray.
I'm not sure how much I'll use the handheld mode to be honest as I feel like Smash is better suited to the big TV.

I got the GC controller + adapter from the Smash Wii U bundle but I’m not married to it. If the Pro controller proves it’s viable then I can migrate over
I still have the WiiU adapter, 3 or 4 OG gamecube controllers, 2 wavebird controllers, and 2 pro controllers.
lost my GameCube controllers in that fire. Can't bring myself to pay $30 for some wired shyt in 2018.*Anybody copped this?
