While your Switch won't collect dust like @CarltonJunior is implying (I play mine a few times a week), if you HAVE to pick one or other...go with the PS4. Nintendo consoles should never be your only console; I learned that the hard way with the Wii.
Maybe they'll come a day where heavy hitting Multiplatform titles make like Fallout, COD, NBA 2K, Jump Force etc. make it to Nintendo's platforms..but until then, these things are excellent secondary consoles and not much else.
Octopath Traveler, Dead Cells, Mega Man 11, The Messenger, DB Fighter Z, Bayonetta 2, DK Tropical Freeze..and if he got a Switch he'd be able to hop to the backlog and grab Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8, Skyrim, and Splatoon 2 (most underrated title on the Switch). Dudes that complain about the Switch's lack of games are the dudes that only buy games with "Mario" and "Zelda" in the title.

First of all, thanks for your time.
I wanna point out though your first post to me said something like "never have Nintendo as your ONLY console" but in this post you seem to also make a strong case in the Switch's favor... I guess honestly it comes down to preference... I have more friends on the PS4 but considering I got a little one running around and stuff the handheld switch may be better...

I got my smash bros console early, downloaded the game but got to wait til December 7th
