Idk I just don't see it with Zelda. The games stories are always barebones to just ass and Zelda lore is not that deep. Apparently its just an endless time loop cycle of Link Zelda and Gannon reincarnating to do the same shyt over and over, namely one kidnapping the other and the last goes to save her. Good for games where you can make some new gimmicks and designs each go around but a movie?

Mario gets over because the world is bright and charming, which can translate well into a family friendly flick. Zelda though? Sometimes its wannabe dark, sometimes its young boy adventure themed, but its never been deep or funny or personal.

I'll be here for the internet outrage when The Rock is cast as Links voice actor tho
Outside of Pixar you’re describing most animated movies. Even the good ones are just barebones plots to run gags or a singular character development over.

I mean the Shrek franchise is literally one character learning to appreciate others several times. The hooks is just visual fairly tale gags.

Saw this today honestly it was exactly what I thought it was. Hit series nostalgia points, action scenes were fun to watch and the animation overall is just beautiful. Chris pratt's Mario was just awful though, we needed a wahoo type of nikka for this.

The story was pretty much whatever it took to get to the next setpiece but I'm not mad at it because some of my earliest memories are playing mario with my brothers and the setpieces were great. Not sure what they could really do with a sequel with tho, they milked the cow pretty thoroughly here.

Good flick, deserves the success for the love to the series and the animation

If "appearance of X character" type fanservice is all they have to go for then people will be catching videogame movie fatigue in no time.

Look how that forumla is playing out for marvel right now

Now all that’s needed is Snake popping up, talking about the S.M.A.S.H initiative. :wow:

Video Game Adaptations taking over the Roaring Twenty’s. :blessed:

superheroes out video game movies in

kingdom hearts movie in 2027 :pachaha:

A Kingdom Hearts movie would be easy to do since Disney owns it. :heh: The big question would be if they'd want to cover Sora's story or just do a completely separate story with another kid with a Keyblade. Latter makes sense since it's a much fresher start.

Video game movies taking over would be interesting though, since I have seen plenty of people talking about the superhero movie burnout. And I wonder if that's because of Marvel having a bunch of Disney Plus series dropping back to back and the overall feeling of the current phase being lackluster.
