I haven't watched this yet, but I'm not surprised it did big. This will definitely inspire Nintendo to make other popular IP into movies or series.

Doing something with Zelda would be huge

The movies? Naaaa, this is Mario breh, if done right it was guaranteed bank. Uncharted pulled an F level Marvel box office. Pokémon didn’t draw the way folks thought it should. A God Of War movie couldn’t pull this strictly from the rating it would pull.

I don’t think a Zelda movie could be done properly in 90 minutes. The only Nintendo property that could do this again is Mario or Smash Brothers.
Zelda would need a Lord of The Rings treatment, would have to be at least 2 films and a supplemental spin-off straight to a streaming service

fukk Marvel movies. We need a Super Smash Brothers Universe of movies.
I'm pretty sure Nintendo Big wigs have something like that planned for down the line. They have a crazy roster of mega IP's that technically are all in the same universe more or less.

Definitely got the money, resources and technology to make it work.

Video games are lowkey getting ready to take over… this whole superhero thing is burning itself out. The market is too saturated with mediocrity. Marvel needs to stop dragging their feet with X-men/Fantastic Four.

Mario :blessed:

I said it since the 2nd Sonic film came out.

Superhero films are beginning to fade away on the box office front. Videogame movies are the rage now.

It was a lot better than what the critics are saying too.

I'm sure for fans of the series as long as they kept with the little storyline they did have and got the voices right it wouldn't make much difference. They would love it.

Idk I just don't see it with Zelda. The games stories are always barebones to just ass and Zelda lore is not that deep. Apparently its just an endless time loop cycle of Link Zelda and Gannon reincarnating to do the same shyt over and over, namely one kidnapping the other and the last goes to save her. Good for games where you can make some new gimmicks and designs each go around but a movie?

Mario gets over because the world is bright and charming, which can translate well into a family friendly flick. Zelda though? Sometimes its wannabe dark, sometimes its young boy adventure themed, but its never been deep or funny or personal.

I'll be here for the internet outrage when The Rock is cast as Links voice actor tho

Mega Man could be a whole cinematic universe by itself :wow:
Every version of Mega Man could be it's own trilogy :banderas:

...well maybe not the boxart version :whoa:

Was Wario in the movie?
Sorry breh, he's not in. Donkey Kong plays a pretty substantial role, and the after credits scene has a single Yoshi egg show up at the very end though.

Saw this today honestly it was exactly what I thought it was. Hit series nostalgia points, action scenes were fun to watch and the animation overall is just beautiful. Chris pratt's Mario was just awful though, we needed a wahoo type of nikka for this.

The story was pretty much whatever it took to get to the next setpiece but I'm not mad at it because some of my earliest memories are playing mario with my brothers and the setpieces were great. Not sure what they could really do with a sequel with tho, they milked the cow pretty thoroughly here.

Good flick, deserves the success for the love to the series and the animation
