True, but the games remain quality. Theres a lot of IPs i played as a kid that i dont rock with anymore cuz of decline. Nintendo has been good about keeping quality devs at the company. See: Tears of the Kingdom. 37 year old IP and this latest release is a strong Game of the Year contender.

If you wanna know how Nintendo gets away with selling weak hardware and shytty online service, its all in the games. Polished, not buggy, and fun compared to most AAA releases.

100% True, but they get passes for shyt that others IPs don't because of the characters. They def get graded on a curve (not saying that the games aren't good).

Multiple times now I've seen people say this is a mainline Mario game

I thought the 3D games are the mainline ones and the 2D Marios are a separate thing

I assume the next "mainline" Mario game is launching with the next Nintendo console

I know the games started in 2D, but the main games after Super Mario 64 were 3D. Then they came out with the "New Super Mario Bros." games. So I thought this game was the follow-up to the NSMB games, and the follow-up to Mario Odyssey is the next 3D game.

The “wonder” gimmick is kinda dope. Almost reminds me of some of the Rayman set piece levels.
